@Milimetric That would be wonderful! Say, 1p.m PST?

@Milimetric So sorry got the times screwed up, are you available later today still?
@Millimetric I'm trying to run wikimetrics locally. I've also created a google hangouts session and invited you to the event via your Phabricator calendar. Let me know if the time works.

So, I tried reinstalling twice last night, and both times I get an error message on running the wikimetrics vagrant setup. From looking at the stdout error code, a bunch of failed dependencies seems to be at fault.

I remember seeing a db_config.yaml.erb file with the 'ARCHIVE_TABLENAME' property, in the ./puppet/modules/wikimetrics/templates directory. I'm currently afk, but once I get back I'll try to setting up vagrant afresh.

Graphs located in Grafana are now being refreshed every 5 minutes.

No, this task is about adding performance instrumentation to the Parsoid codebase. The project changed and its title needs updating. :)

I think it is a good idea to keep it open to all Phabricator users. It's a great way to get community buy-in and it certainly helped me keep track of the tasks that I needed to complete my project.

Metrics sent to the Carbon db default to a '1m:1y, 10m:10y' data retention schema.
Decided to use Grafana for the front-end visualizations.
No longer needed as Carbon (the db backend ) automatically creates metrics based on what is sent to it. So if metrics sent do not match any existing files, one gets created.
node-txstatsd wrapper added to lib/mediawiki.Util.js, with properties added in localsettings.js. node-txstatsd instantiated in lib/mediawiki.ParsoidConfig.js.
Additional timing was captured in api/routes.js.

Instrumentation no longer necessary as timing information is captured in other parts of the codebase.
Utilized the RESTbase port of statsd - node-txstatsd and its node-txstatsd wrapper, see: https://github.com/wikimedia/service-runner/blob/master/lib/statsd.js
Implemented this using the Date.now() and Map object. Patch merged, see: https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/#/c/186219/

Heya, interesting results! Quick clarification: is api.log some sort of general logs or did you implement some performance instrumentation?
