@OlafJanssen Do you know if your colleague was able to add structured data on Wikimedia Commons itself?

Some important features for StructuredDataOnCommons and GLAM (i.e. other statements than Depicts) have been deployed in early August; this is a bit later than originally planned/hoped. This means that some of the SDC GLAM pilots still need a bit of work. On the other hand, a few of the pilots have (nearly) been finalized. So I'd like to suggest an updated timeline, which also includes more detail:

Big +1 on the problem statement this is trying to solve. We need more 'clues' to help people find the correct item when entering structured data. I have seen many first-time and advanced users make mistakes here. And I notice that many Wikidata items don't have good descriptions in many languages (yet).

The project has concluded! Final report can be found here: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Wikimedia_Commons_Data_Roundtripping_-_Final_report.pdf

Session was attended by 10+ participants - many thanks!

A final thought: If we want to be able to produce demos of different data modelling, it will be useful to be able to create new properties for a test instance of Commons SDC at will at Wikimania. Does that mean attaching it to a fully-loaded (at least as regards properties) test instance of Wikidata? That may be something to think about before the event, and not just for this project. (eg if there were workshops to develop different potential SDC modellings of GLAM metadata, they might want to be able to create test-versions of properties, too. Pinging @SandraF_WMF ).

Anyone interested in (co-)hosting this?

Hello @hdothiduc - no problem! I would upload them in this category: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:GLAMWiki_workflows - I can help polishing their metadata, so please ping me when you've uploaded them! It will be good to mention the source images, for instance, but I can help with that.
Is there evidence that users need this? I myself will likely be annoyed in my workflows when, in addition to having to click on the Structured Data tab, I will also need to do an extra click to see all statements.

The May 2019 Wikimedia activities meeting contained several updates about Wikimedia Commons in general.

Thanks for posting this task! Anything we can do to help prepare?

@hdothiduc and I checked in yesterday and went through her designs. I'm extremely happy with what Hang has produced; I understand how to apply the designs and have even learned a bit about CSS in the process :-) At this moment, in my current planning, I can get started with what we have at this moment. As for next steps, we talked about the following:

Thanks for your feedback, María! Hang and I are checking in later today to go through feedback in person. Please note that I am the one who created the workflow graphic last year - that image is not Hang's work! That said, guidelines on how to create and improve such graphics in the future are very welcome.

The drafts looks absolutely awesome ... with some small modifications (colors of headers, strips of color and backgrounds delineating specific paragraphs, extra whitespace) you have been able to insert so much more clarity! I'll reach out to you to have a more in depth 1:1 run through them and discuss next steps.
Putting this task on the list for Wikimania-Hackathon-2019 (GLAM focus area). Feel free to remove again if this doesn't make sense.

According to @Ramsey-WMF this is not something that can be fixed by the StructuredDataOnCommons team as the issue lies elsewhere. Pinging a few other people: @Ladsgroup @Amire80 @Nikerabbit who may have a lead on this.

I will be happy to help finding inspirational GLAM images for these illustrations :-) and I'm sure the broader GLAM-Wiki community will have ideas too.

Isa (or ISA) is its name indeed. It's going to be a tagging tool, and as @Eugene233 said, the word isa means 'to put' in the Shona language.
I can vouch for this! It's a piece of software which will be developed as a StructuredDataOnCommons GLAM pilot project.
