Testing on iOS 13.3.1 (iPad Pro).
Nov 14 2019
Testing on iOS 13.2 (iPhone X) and iOS 12.4.1 (iPhone 7). The Higgs field formula scrolls vertically and the Higgs Lagrangian formulas scroll horizontally (which look considerably fixed over what I had shared above many posts ago on Jan 2 2017).
Jul 9 2019
Build: 6.3 (1643)
Device: iPad mini 2 (it was a mini, not an Air, that I had been using for this ticket and for smoke testing)
OS: iOS 12.3.1
May 16 2019
I've attached screencaps below with specs for the device and app I tested in caps 1 and 2. Caps 3, 4, and 5 are my testing of the article - as seen in cap 5 still nothing is happening when the top article in Read More is tapped (Jennifer Aniston), it was so broken in my case that it left a grayscale fingerprint where I had tapped it.

@ABorbaWMF Testing on Wikipedia app 2.7.280-beta-2019-05-01, and the smallest Android I have is BLU Dash L2 with Android 6:
However, my BLU screencap shows it as looking fixed as TOC text and TOC slider now have much better visibility:May 6 2019
@ABorbaWMF @Charlotte Testing on Wikipedia app 2.7.280-beta-2019-05-01, using this tablet:
Context pop-up is fixed now on both Black/Dark modes, I had the app on Black already because it was set up for Android
regression last week, so I believe its actually fixed now and not because I had tested the TT tools.
Mar 27 2019
On Galaxy Tab A and the 2.7.275-alpha-2019-03-27 build this appears fixed - I tested app iteration #3 above with the same article and the margins were equal throughout.
Mar 7 2019
Testing on iPhone SE (A1662) and build 6.2.0 (1581) from the App Store. (I do have an iOS 10.3.3 iPhone 6S however it requires a new TestFlight invitation code to download the current build 6.2.1, 1586 - my credentials to test with the device have expired.)
As seen in the screencap below, there was no gap above the 1st search result on iPhone SE and 6.2.0 (1581) so it may be fixed.
Feb 21 2019
Testing on iOS 12.1 iPad Air 2 and app 6.2.1 (1582). This is fixed as shown in the screencaps, since I could open a Saved article when Airplane Mode was turned on.
Dec 6 2018
Testing app build 2.7.268-alpha-2018-12-04 on the device Samsung Galaxy S9 SM-G960U1 (Android 8). I was able to swipe through the Peony image gallery from the lead image to the last image both before online and after offline so this seems fixed. There is one image only in the Peony image gallery that doesn't display that may be unrelated to this bug, it has a particular error message. I have attached the screencap of when it happens in case anyone wants to open a card to fix it separately.
Dec 5 2018
Testing app build 2.7.268-alpha-2018-12-04 on the devices Samsung Galaxy Express 3 SM-J120A (Android 6.0.1) and Samsung Galaxy S9 SM-G960U1 (Android 8). According to the screencaps I've uploaded below everything is left aligned (whether airplane mode is on or off) so this is fixed.
Nov 19 2018
Testing Samsung Galaxy S9 (SM-G960x) and app version 2.7.264-alpha-2018-11-19. On this device/app configuration at least, "Add or Edit Languages" is visible in both Portrait and Landscape, and languages can be scrolled when many of them are added.
Landscape mode does still have the T209764 issue as you notice "The Free Encyclopedia..." is not visible.
Nov 8 2018
Testing on iOS 12.1 (iPhone 7) and Wikipedia app 6.1.1 (1524). This seems fixed according to the screencaps below, it looks visually better on the latest build. Here's a logged in example
and here's an example of clean install, not logged inTesting on iOS 12.1 (iPhone 7) and Wikipedia app 6.1.1 (1524). This is fixed according to the screencap below the close button is on the top right now as expected.
Testing on iOS 12.1 (iPhone 7) and Wikipedia app 6.1.1 (1524). This seems fixed according to the videos below. I no longer had the issue when testing the Bill Clinton image gallery during the latest iOS app regression. @ABorbaWMF @NHarateh_WMF @JMinor @JoeWalsh
Testing on iOS 12.1 (iPhone 7) and Wikipedia app 6.1.1 (1524). As seen in the video I will share with @ABorbaWMF @JMinor @NHarateh_WMF @JoeWalsh on Google Drive, I was able to peek/pop KTVU this time and the correct card popped up so it appears fixed.
Testing on iOS 12.1 (iPhone 7) and Wikipedia app 6.1.1 (1524). This is fixed as evidenced in a video I will share with @ABorbaWMF
Oct 23 2018
@ABorbaWMF Testing on iPhone SE with iOS 12 and Wikipedia app 6.1.0 (1506). As shown in the screencaps below the good news is that the description doesn't disappear when rotated to landscape, however the description is truncated and has to be scrolled - it doesn't display on screen all at the same time as it does in portrait. So now iPhone SE's Steps to reproduce 2 bug is fixed but it has the issue of the other iPhones (Steps to reproduce 1).
@ABorbaWMF Testing on iPhone SE with iOS 12 and Wikipedia app 6.1.0 (1506). As shown in the screencap below this is fixed at least on iPhone SE now that the reference highlight is on the tapped link [2].
@ABorbaWMF Testing on iPhone SE with iOS 12 and Wikipedia app 6.1.0 (1506). As shown in the attachments below this is fixed on the English articles but still can use further testing in other languages as I was able to reproduce it there.
Oct 4 2018
@ABorbaWMF Testing on Samsung Galaxy Express 3 SM-J120A (Android 6.0.1) and Wikipedia app 2.7.239-alpha-2018-10-03. Below are screencaps of the Original Article, Article Minimized to the Bottom Menu, and the Table of Contents. Things seem to look fixed but I'll let everyone here decide. Tapping ⋮≡ hamburger opens ToC in addition to swiping.
@ABorbaWMF Testing on Samsung Galaxy Express 3 SM-J120A (Android 6.0.1) and Wikipedia app 2.7.239-alpha-2018-10-03. I included the two screencaps of the Logged In and Logged Out so it can be decided how much has been fixed. In the case of the Galaxy tapping on the top left hamburger ≡ opened the side drawer in addition to swiping.
Sep 27 2018
@ABorbaWMF Testing with iOS 12 (iPhone SE) and Wikipedia app 6.0.2 (1493). According to the screencap below Places > Search Places empty view isn't cut off on this device/build pairing either.
Sep 25 2018
@ABorbaWMF Testing with iOS 10.3.3 (iPhone 6s) [this is one of the "(and others)" device models as TSG doesn't have an iPhone 5] and Wikipedia app 6.1.0 (1491). According to the screencap below Places > Search Places empty view isn't cut off on this device/build pairing.
Sep 12 2018
Testing on iOS 11.2.2 (iPhone 7) and Wikipedia 6.1.0 (1489) app. According to a video I'm sharing with @JoeWalsh @JMinor and @ABorbaWMF "Search Wikipedia" no longer jumps when tapped so it is fixed.
Aug 30 2018
Testing with Wikipedia 6.0.1 (1483) app and iOS 11.2.2 (iPhone 7). This looks fixed as list views now have the "Back to Explore feed" button as shown in the screencaps below (other options for returning to the Explore feed such as <Explore and the X button are still present in certain Explore feed items not pictured).
Testing with Wikipedia 6.0.1 (1483) app and iOS 11.2.2 (iPhone 7). According to the video I'm sharing on Google Drive with @JMinor @JoeWalsh and @NHarateh_WMF swiping in the Settings area seems to not respond to my fingers very sensitively (in articles/pages swiping smoke tests have consistently passed, so it's uniquely in Settings that it is not fixed).
Aug 29 2018
TSG doesn't have an iPhone 5s so if @JoeWalsh has confirmed it fixed I will let it be.
Testing with Wikipedia 6.0.1 (1483) app and iOS 11.2.2 (iPhone 7). According to the screencaps below in particular the third one which looks different from the video this is fixed.
Testing with Wikipedia 6.0.1 (1483) app and iOS 11.2.2 (iPhone 7). Attached below are screencaps of the Log in and Create account button styles in their current state.
Testing with Wikipedia 6.0.1 (1483) app and iOS 11.2.2 (iPhone 7). According to the screencaps below the status bar is visible in landscape, I thought the app just developed this way and wasn't a flaw, but to each their own.
Testing with Wikipedia 6.0.1 (1483) app and iOS 11.2.2 (iPhone 7). According to the screencaps below this appears to be fixed as Chile, Bolivia, and Swaziland while not 1st are in the Top 3 results. Where this is still questionable is why there is one result at the bottom with unrelated spelling (Vietnam instead of Chisholm or Chiswick, Guangzhou instead of Boulder, Colorado or Bowling Green, Kentucky or Bombay High Court, and Kuwait instead of Swarthmore College).
Testing with Wikipedia 6.0.1 (1483) app and iOS 11.2.2 (iPhone 7). I had no specific testing steps to follow to determine if this was still a common occurence (it would take exploratory testing probably). According to the video I'm sharing on Google Drive with @JMinor @JoeWalsh and @NHarateh_WMF it does still pop up at the beginning just once after I added my first reading list item, turned on airplane mode, and gone to Saved. It did not happen to me when opening and looking over a Saved article, or tapping links to sections of the article in the table of contents. Opening the Image Gallery has a different message "There's no internet connection" but the image still appears, it will appear every time the gallery is opened, but can be tapped closed.
Aug 27 2018
Testing with Wikipedia 6.0.0 (1470) app and iOS 10.3.3 (iPhone 6S). Below are screencaps on the status bar/tab in its current state for the Explore, Places, Saved, History and Search tabs. It looks fine to me.
Aug 21 2018
Testing on Samsung Galaxy Express 3 SM-J120A (Android 6.0.1) and Wikipedia app 2.7.239-alpha-2018-08-20. Since there weren't steps to recreate and an expected vs. actual result, I took screencaps from my device. As shown, the edit pencil opened, and I got a few screens in, but I was given an error when trying to publish changes (changes weren't saved).
Aug 13 2018
@Kaartic @ABorbaWMF that was a typo I had been using the app 2018-08-06. I tried to test again today with BLU Dash L2 (Android 6) and Wikipedia app build version 2.7.239-alpha-2018-08-13. Even though Andy of TSG and I had Googled information from this link to try to get BLU Dash L2 to auto rotate to landscape we had no luck. So the best I can provide is updated portrait screencaps below, which show on the device I'm using that the "Add/Edit" language was accessible for this orientation/device. For non-English languages, I'm not very good at reading the non-Latin alphabets so I'll allow others to test that area.
Aug 8 2018
@RHo Testing with BLU Dash L2 (Android 6) and Wikipedia app build version 2.7.239-alpha-2018-08-08. It was a good thing the alpha link was provided last time - usually I get builds from here however, while the swipe gesture works on the latest alpha build, it does not currently have the TOC indicator, blue highlights, and other expected dynamic scrollable TOC elements.
Aug 7 2018
Testing with BLU Dash L2 (Android 6) and Wikipedia app build version 2.7.237-alpha-2018-07-18. According to the screencaps below this is working when tapping the article (the indicator appears and moves along the screen), TOC opens when indicator is tapped (no need to long press, tap is fine), active TOC section highlights in blue, and tapping outside the TOC closes it. The keyword in the Design Details is "or" as swiping will not open or close the TOC on this particular Android device.
Aug 6 2018
Testing with Wikipedia 6.0.0 (1470) app and iOS 10.3.3 (iPhone 6S). @ABorbaWMF I reproduced the steps and took screencaps below as I went along - the third screencap is most important/the expected result ("the title is replaced with < Back" as we originally wanted), while the first two screencaps are for reference - so this ticket appears to be fixed.
Testing with BLU Dash L2 (Android 6) and Wikipedia app build version 2.7.239-alpha-2018-08-06. @ABorbaWMF in the screencaps below I added 8 languages and it scrolls all of them. This looks fixed.
Testing Wikipedia 6.0.0 (1470) app on iOS 10.3.3 (iPhone 6S). @ABorbaWMF I reproduced a search and took screencaps below as I went along so it appears to be fixed according to my device and app.
Aug 5 2018
Testing Wikipedia 6.0.0 (1470) app on iOS 11.2.2 (iPhone 7). @ABorbaWMF I'm not sure if this is fixed, what I'll do is include the screencaps below of the different areas I have explored so that the staff can evaluate them.
Testing Wikipedia 6.0.0 (1470) app on iOS 11.2.2 (iPhone 7) and iOS 11.4.1 (iPad Air 2). @ABorbaWMF this is fixed on both according to the iPhone screencaps
and the iPad screencaps
Testing Wikipedia 6.0.0 (1470) app on iOS 11.2.2 (iPhone 7). @ABorbaWMF this is fixed according to the screencaps below.
Jul 27 2018
@ABorbaWMF Testing on iPad mini 2 with Retina display and iOS 11, and the app build of this writing Wikipedia 6.0.0 (1460). According to the below screencap the slider expands as expected now so this is fixed.
Jul 26 2018
Testing on iPad mini 2 with Retina display and iOS 11, and the app build of this writing Wikipedia 6.0.0 (1460). I took slo-mo videos and screencaps in case they are of help; Explore, Saved, and History appears to work as expected, but Places header doesn't hide or change size when scrolled, and Search header hides instead of shrinking.
Jul 17 2018
Testing on Samsung Galaxy Express 3 SM-J120A (Android 6.0.1) and app build 2.7.237-alpha-2018-07-16. The ogg media player files for "Kimigayo" and "Waltzing Matilda" played in their entirety so this looks fixed - in my particular device or build to play the file I had to open another page as you can see in the below attachments, but it played perfectly.
Jul 10 2018
Testing with app 2.7.237-alpha-2018-06-29 (the test Alpha provided) and Samsung Galaxy Express 3 SM-J120A (Android 6.0.1). The device I used doesn't have "Virtual Keyboard" in System Settings or App Settings (I'm on a family reunion holiday and left my other Android testing devices at home) so I didn't want to continue to any further steps without asking. Here's a screencap of what it looks like.
Testing with app 2.7.237-alpha-2018-07-06 (the test Alpha provided) and Samsung Galaxy Express 3 SM-J120A (Android 6.0.1). Everything seems to be working as described in the Design details above.
May 15 2018
Testing on Nexus 9 tablet with Android 7.1.1 with Wikipedia app 2.7.232-alpha-2018-05-15.
This is fixed at least with these credentials as I got a "new password" screen as shown under "Expected" above.
Testing on Nexus 9 tablet with Android 7.1.1 with Wikipedia app 2.7.232-alpha-2018-05-15. I included screencaps,
so if the attached screengrabs look okay then the staff can decide what to do next.

@JMinor @ABorbaWMF TSG did a Regression of 5.7.3 (1286) while I'm still doing a smoke test of 5.7.3 (1287) that covers some of the same ground. If you have access to the "iOS Test Cases - Wiki" spreadsheet the TSG team did please let me know if any of the tests that were failed or blocked should be retested on 1287. Thanks!
@JoeWalsh @JMinor @ABorbaWMF TSG doesn't have an iPhone X device so I recommend someone that does test this instead. Thanks!
Testing on iPhone 6s (iOS 10.3.3) - Wikipedia app 5.7.3 (1287). This looks like it is fixed but I have attached a screencap so the staff can decide.
Testing on iPhone 6 Plus (iOS 11.1.2) - Wikipedia app 5.7.3 (1296). The good news is "In the news" is now just 2 days old (December 18) instead of 4. The bad news is there is still no "In the news" for today or yesterday which the staff may still feel requires fixing, and still requires a long scroll down, because the iOS Wikipedia app doesn't have a way to remove most cards on the Explore page yet (a feature the Android version of the app has).
Dec 13 2017
Testing on iPhone 6 Plus (iOS 11.1.2) - Wikipedia app 5.7.3 (1281). I'll just include the screencap from my testing.
Testing on iPhone 6 Plus (iOS 11.1.2) and iPhone 6s (iOS 10.3.3) - Wikipedia app 5.7.3 (1281). It still navigates to the article if I tap above or to the right of the "save for later" button, only tapping on the button or link saves it. So this is not fixed as expected.
Testing on iPhone 6s (iOS 10.3.3) and Wikipedia app 5.7.3 (1281). On 'In the news' and 'On this day cards', 'more...', 'Read Now', 'Share' and 'View on Map' act according to expected results when tapped so this is fixed, and despite the separate bug with T180728 the 'Read Now' and 'Share' buttons work as expected upon being tapped.
Testing on iPhone 6 Plus (iOS 11.1.2) - Wikipedia app 5.7.3 (1281). This still needs work as the latest article "in the news" of the explore feed is listed for Saturday December 9 which was a weekend ago.
Dec 12 2017
Testing on iPhone 6 Plus (iOS 11.1.2) - Wikipedia app 5.7.3 (1275) [the latest TestFlight build]. As seen in the photos below, Smart Invert displays as expected when Location is disabled for Places Near. (This is when first installing the app.) Once I tap Enable Location however, the compass images go back to the image display defects they exhibited earlier.
Dec 6 2017
Testing on Samsung-SM-JI20A Galaxy Express 3 (Android 6.0.1) and Wikipedia app 2.6.207-alpha-2017-12-04. Notice in the attached video during scrolling that the Economy of Virginia lead image after appearing in the gray background color container for a bit the image eventually loads, and the image is still loaded upon scrolling back up to it. I didn't scroll down a long way in order to keep the video short, but hopefully this test shows that it is working as expected.
Testing on Samsung-SM-JI20A Galaxy Express 3 (Android 6.0.1) and Wikipedia app 2.6.207-alpha-2017-12-04. In the attached video I removed all cards except for Featured Article and Picture of the day. The color blue is still used as an outline on all icons, "download" is always filled with blue even on pictures I did not download, for Featured Article the icons are only outlined blue and fill only after I add them to the reading list, but still, the above caps show that these icons should be gray instead. So this is not fixed.
Testing on Samsung-SM-JI20A Galaxy Express 3 (Android 6.0.1) and Wikipedia app 2.6.206-alpha-2017-12-05. This is fixed as seen in the attached video after exiting and relaunching the app I was able to change the language of the feed page.
Dec 5 2017
I can only test this if it is not Android 8.0-specific, and if Galaxy/Nexus/ZTE can be QA'd instead of Pixel (TSG right now only has devices for Androids 4, 5, and 6).
Testing on Samsung-SM-JI20A Galaxy Express 3 (Android 6.0.1) and Wikipedia app 2.6.206-alpha-2017-12-05. Included below are screenshots of the onboarding as well as a video documenting QA Step 2, 1, 4 and 3 (in this order). Things seem to work as expected.
Testing on iPhone 6 Plus (iOS 11.1.2) and Wikipedia app 5.7.2 (1267). According to the attached video making a ToC selection still doesn't make the navigation bar re-appear (however, this may not be quite what is wanted, it does reappear if you scroll up a bit in the article afterwards).
Testing on iPhone 6 Plus (iOS 11.1.2) and Wikipedia app 5.7.2 (1267). Case 2 works as expected, but according to the attached video the "Add languages" tooltip is not appearing when I open article view using the featured article even though "Tap to go home" tooltip appears. @NHarateh_WMF if applicable please let me know if there is another article in which the tooltip should appear on any devices running iOS 10 and 11 and with the latest build.
Testing on iPhone 6 Plus (iOS 11.1.2) and Wikipedia app 5.7.2 (1267). Featured article widget "Save for later" button color is shown in screencaps below, I have posted two examples as this is a tough call comparing them to the "After" photo above, the reason being my devices do not cap the exact color specs on the screen.
Testing on iPhone 6 Plus (iOS 11.1.2) and Wikipedia app 5.7.2 (1267) which was the latest update in TestFlight. According to the screencaps below, the error message shows at the top as expected, but it is still possible to tap "Create your account" during the "Saving..." process. Text fields are not disabled either.
Nov 29 2017
@ABorbaWMF @NHarateh_WMF I'm not sure how to test this. I have tested T175320 so if anything I did there would apply again here please let me know.
Testing on:
iPhone 7 (iOS 10.3.2) - Wikipedia app 5.7.1 (1259), app store version (left)
iPhone 6 Plus (iOS 11.1.2) - Wikipedia app 5.8.0 (1265). (right)
Nov 27 2017
Testing on iPhone 6 Plus (iOS 11.1.2) - Wikipedia app 5.8.0 (1265). Search term results are now highlighted in dark and sepia modes according to the screencaps below.
Testing on iPhone 6 Plus (iOS 11.1.2) - Wikipedia app 5.8.0 (1265). This is working as expected according to the video attached.
Testing on iPhone 6 Plus (iOS 11.1.2) - Wikipedia app 5.8.0 (1265). The extra space has been fixed up according to the screencap below.
Testing on iPhone 6 Plus (iOS 11.1.2) - Wikipedia app 5.8.0 (1265). (Since this was upgraded to iOS 11 Smart invert is now present.) Andy recommended me to use iPhone 6 Plus as that's what TSG has. There are still defects, if this is what was meant by "compass view"/"compass cell image" with how the compass in Places is displayed. Regardless of Smart Invert turned off or on they are not displaying as expected. See screencaps below.
Testing on iPhone 6s (iOS 10.3.3) - Wikipedia app 5.8.0 (1265). This is fixed according to the screencaps below.
Nov 26 2017
Testing Wikipedia app 2.6.206-alpha-2017-11-2 on ZTE Maven (Z812, Android 5). This is fixed as seen in the below screencap the dialog has visible texts in dark mode.
Unlike in T177516 where I was able to make Device 1: ZTE Maven (Z812, Android 5) and Device 2: Device 2: Samsung-SM-JI20A Galaxy Express 3 (Android 6.0.1). [Wikipedia app 2.6.206-alpha-2017-11-20], this time Galaxy Express 3 not having a Sync disabling Setting prevents me from using it to do Step 4 of the above scenarios. Can someone suggest what device might work?
Testing on Wikipedia app 2.6.206-alpha-2017-11-20 with Device 1: ZTE Maven (Z812) and Device 2: Samsung-SM-JI20A Galaxy Express 3 (Android 6.0.1).
[The Galaxy Express 3 did not have a Sync disabling Setting so I had to make the ZTE the Device 1.]
This is fixed as changing Sync settings on ZTE, creating a new reading list on Galaxy, nevertheless Sync was active and the new Delta reading list showed on both devices. Screencaps shown below.
Nov 25 2017
Testing on iPhone 6s (iOS 10.3.3) - Wikipedia app 5.8.0 (1264). This is working according to the screencaps below (two for Case 1 and a Case 2) as "Done" is included and the pages are dismissed when it is tapped.
Testing on iPhone 6s (iOS 10.3.3) - Wikipedia app 5.8.0 (1264) on Default (Light) Reading Theme. There apparently isn't a "Smart Invert" option in my Settings
, this is how it would look if there was one and Reading Themes has nothing either so I can't verify this but @NHarateh_WMF let me know if I've missed something.Testing on iPhone 7 (iOS 11.0.2) - Wikipedia app 5.8.0 (1264). According to the screencaps below Map View locations are shown in List View (even after tapping and closing Search overlay) so this is fixed.
Testing on iPhone 7 (iOS 11.0.2)/Wiki app 5.8.0 (1264) again - tapping the top of the screen (the clock) scrolled to the top as well (after I did a peek test) so this can be considered fixed after all.
Nov 20 2017
Testing on iPhone 7 (iOS 11.0.2) - Wikipedia app 5.8.0 (1264). Tapping the W scrolled to the top after I did a Peek test, so this is fixed.
Testing on iPhone 7 (iOS 11.0.2) - Wikipedia app 5.8.0 (1264). As the screencaps show below this is still broken, such as that colors in pie charts and brick charts are still not showing in Sepia and Dark modes.
Testing on iPhone 7 (iOS 11.0.2) - Wikipedia app 5.8.0 (1264). This is finally fixed in an area it had failed the last few times - the Article Editing Regression test for iPhone 7 that involved Test Wiki and the Foo page.
Nov 16 2017
Testing on Samsung-SM-JI20A Galaxy Express 3 (Android 6.0.1) and Wikipedia app 2.6.206-alpha-2017-11-16 in Simplified Chinese. As shown in the screencaps below, this is fixed as the correct number of additional languages specified for both articles are shown - both have English and Traditional Chinese as choices, while the second also has German to choose from.
