I don't think there was a magical day when it went from "problem" to "no problem" but the fact is that nowadays this isn't an issue for me, neither I have heard complaints.

Ok, let me explain what we would like to import on a monthly basis (if we can do it ourselves, without bothering you, otherwise quarterly). The questions we want to answer are:
Jun 2 2025
A list of newly promoted admins is very interesting, actually, and we can put it into good use. I will try to generate this list with updated dates in the future.
May 30 2025
Thank you @Hghani. Very much appreciated! If you can document how I can get these reports myself, then I'll stop bothering you every quarter. :)
May 28 2025
Ho @OSefu-WMF @Hghani do you have a rough estimated date for this task? Just asking for my own planning.
May 15 2025
Thank you very much @Eileenmcnaughton for submitting this report.
May 14 2025
@Eileenmcnaughton and I met today and the process to import the data we need turned out to be as simple as any other import. I feel (almost) embarrassed! This task is resolved. Thank you very much, Eileen!
May 12 2025
Thank you so much! Invite sent.
May 8 2025
Even simpler: if I can get 30-60 minutes with @Eileenmcnaughton, she can explain and then I document for me aka for dummies. :)

This collection of pages doesn't have an owner at the Foundation these days. If anyone wants to declare them historical, they can because this is what they are. I don't have an opinion myself, and I wasn't (or am) directly related to this project. But if a decision to delete them is needed, I can help getting that decision.
Good idea. It's not my decision but I'll try to get a decision.

Thank you very much! That works.

@Dwisehaupt do you know what happened yesterday that broke the server? Should I avoid the deduplication tool for now?
Feb 28 2024
It looks like the entire virtual server is down anyway: https://grafana.wmcloud.org/d/0g9N-7pVz/cloud-vps-project-board?orgId=1&var-project=civicrm-prototype&var-instance=community-crm and yes, this happened after a high load at the time I started the deduplication job.

Works for me!
Nov 22 2023
I have found this setting under Display Preferences:
Nov 21 2023
From the admin web interface I can see a custom field including 184 languages, with the language name as label and the 2-letter ISO code as value.
Nov 20 2023
@Dwisehaupt According to the information in the Custom Fields UI, the custom field is ID 32, part of the custom field set ID 10.

(Sorry for the noise. Phabricator is lying. I'm not touching projects, only trying to remove myself silently.) 😅

Self-identification is prone to many unintended consequences and reality distortion. If an alternative to "first wiki" is created, then "most active recent wiki" is the most logical.

I have added this comment on T27854: Implement oEmbed API (+ discovery <link rel>) for File pages (image thumbs and video player) and I am copying it here just in case it is relevant too (sorry, I lack the technical knowledge to discern).
@Theklan has reported this problem on the Movement Strategy Forum: Embedding Commons pages on the Forum. There is also T309101: Allow video embedding from Wikimedia Commons at Diff.

I have disabled the theme compoennts and the UI, even if simpler, seems to be fully functional again.
Nov 29 2021
I can look into this later as well. I think it is a matter of removing the custom components.
Thank you for looking into this. I see the developer has responded already. We seem to be in an impasse, where either we... remove Wikimedia login and leave Discourse in pure read-only mode, or if someone has Discourse plans in mind, we talk to the developer to work on a fix. I'm sure there are other possibilities, but these two are logical.

Maybe I wrote my no-reply ask too soon. After receiving a hundred automated replies or so, things stopped. That is a manageable amount of bounces to handle a couple of times every year or so. Cleaning the moderation queue was easy. Also, thanks to that From we have got a couple of genuine replies that were useful.
The first mailing has "board-elections lists.wikimedia.org" as "from". The result is that now we are getting a big amount of auto-responses in the moderation queue of that mailing list. Given that we don't care (or we cannot do anything) about server autoresponders and out-of-office notices, can we use a "no-reply" type of From address, please?
Aug 13 2021
Thank you so much @Aklapper for this investigation and these queries!
Aug 11 2021
Thank you @Dzahn! One more piece of data for this puzzle.
Aug 10 2021
Thank you for your quick replies!

This task about defining the new eligibility criteria is completed. Now we need to create the list of eligible voters, see T288455: Create list of developers eligible to vote on the 2021 board vote.
I took the liberty of marking this task High priority and setting a deadline for this Friday.
HTML email with plaintext backup would be ideal, if technically feasible.

Aug 4 2021
I don't know whether this is relevant here or only in T287023: Sending two mass emails to eligible voters for the board elections 2021, but just in case, I'll mention the need to skip bot accounts.
Aug 3 2021
I have updated the dates of the mailings to August 20 and 27, which are consistent with the previous plan (before the election was postponed.
Today we confirmed that Tim will help us with this task. 🎉
Apr 15 2021
No worries, let me check first what the Elections Committee and other potential volunteers interested in elections tech can and are interested in providing.
Apr 8 2021
Thank you so much! This task can be resolved.

I have what I think are good news. :)
Mar 31 2021
@mforns I'm not sure this would be more accurate or technically possible (or whether it would make a big difference in the ranking), but here is an idea for better criteria:
Gosh, guys, you're fast! Thank you so much.
Mar 30 2021
Ok, after checking with my team, this list is good to get us going, and if this is all we can get, it's fine. However, if building the list based on the criteria defined above and the data set from March is not too complicated, we would still welcome it.
@JAllemandou end of March would be totally fine but, actually, I think this spreadsheet that @nshahquinn-wmf links to is all we need! Give me a bit of time to check it in detail, and if this is all that we need I'll resolve the task. Thank you for your quick responses!

I'm declining this task. Currently there are no plans to use Wikimedia Space (Discourse) for Foundation activities. In any case, make Wikimedia Login work in Discourse for users without an email address is probably a big technical challenge.
Aug 20 2020
We haven't touched anything, so it is clearly unreliable right now.
@Tacsipacsi @Aklapper do you still have problems getting the feed on Thunderbird?
Aug 19 2020
Thank you for reporting this problem. Mmm perhaps this is something related to the theme we are using?
Moving to read-only is fine by me.
Jul 22 2020
As the creator of this task, I agree with closing it.

I am surprised that you could log in at all.
Thanks! Because users can also change the frequency of email summaries in their preferences, I think leaving it at one eek is good.

Oh, a task actually completed was left hanging It was my fault as I forgot to assign it to me. :) Resolved now.
Elena had looked into this.
Related but not related but related indeed ;)
