This is not an issue with the app. The problem is that the article contains a chart that is too wide for the display.
It appears the same in mobile web:

A few notes so far:
Unfortunately this is not reproducible on any of our devices. It may have simply been the result of transient network conditions.

I've made an update to the {{infobox color}} template that excludes it from our theme transformation. This should fix the display of the color box in dark mode.
Please try it again, and reopen the task if it's still an issue

@Tgr That sounds accurate, thanks!

Closing as device-specific / non-reproducible.
Boldly closing this one, since it's highly likely that the standard menu popups have improved since 2015, and no longer exhibit this issue.
Closing, since it's out of our control if a device forces our app to close.

It looks like that article had some broken markup, with an incorrectly formatted reference which was breaking the presentation on mobile. Can you try it again?
@KarlBeecken I'm not exactly sure of the original reasoning for that exclusion. I do wish that these functions were documented a bit better (e.g. with links to a Phab task) like others are.
@SunAfterRain That was a slightly different issue. It looks like that particular table template has CSS that sets an explicit background color on the tr::before selector. Upon editing that template to exclude our theme, the issue disappears.

This article actually had invalid markup in the wikitext. Once the invalid stuff was removed, the article appears correctly.

Thanks, good catch!

We seem to be sending events with unwanted parameters. (namely, it looks like we're including a wiki_db field, but it's not included in the schema.)
In T324090#8454362, @cscott wrote:Seems like an issue with the Android App, not Content-Transform-Team. As far as I know, Parsoid generates the same title information for pages in other namespaces (ie, the <title> tag in the parsoid-generated document) and it's up to the app to render that in its skin.
Cache has been purged, so clients should now be getting the updated CSS. Client-side cache might still take up to a day to refresh, but this should be fixed now.
There was a fix submitted for T264474 that also fixes the issue in this task, therefore merging.
I updated the description of this task to be specifically regarding the issue with alternating colors, which was fixed by @KarlBeecken. Other instances of incorrect table backgrounds will still exist, and can be tracked via T284327.
(I updated the description of this task to serve as more of a tracking task. There was recently a patch that resolved a subset of issues with table backgrounds (T264474) but there are still plenty of remaining cases, and I hope the explanation in the description helps going forward.)
Yep, and thanks again!
