Feel free to add the sessions in the schedule for more visibility :) You can use the Jitsi Room 2 for example. https://wikimania.wikimedia.org/wiki/2021:Hackathon/Schedule

Hi @John_Cummings @GFontenelle_WMF If you're planning to do something different, I suggest you create a separate task to describe what you plan to do :) Once you're satisfied of the description, feel free to add the session directly in the schedule. https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Wikimedia_Hackathon_2021/Schedule
As you prefer :)
I'm super excited about the data challenge! As a reminder, it takes place tomorrow at 19:00 UTC / 21:00 CEST.
Is there anything you need support with?
Update: I removed the session from the schedule (it was so far proposed on Sunday).
If anyone is willing to take the ownership of this session, feel free to reschedule it in one of the Hacking Rooms here: https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Wikimedia_Hackathon_2021/Schedule -> @Laurentius the floor is yours if you want to schedule it on Friday.
May 19 2021
As discussed with @Pharos, this session is now scheduled on Friday at 21:00 UTC.
Feel free to improve the description to give participants more information on what they will hear/discuss about :)
Hello @JoKalliauer and thanks for your proposal!
Unfortunately, we cannot add any session in the main track at that point. However, feel free to book a 55min slot in one of the hacking rooms! You can look at the schedule, choose the slot that suits you best, and directly add it in the wikitable.
If you need any help with that, let me know.
@Chicocvenancio Absolutely! I can give you 25min on Saturday at 16:00 UTC on the main track, and then any slot you want in a Jitsi room :)
May 18 2021
Thanks for your feedback!
21:00 UTC is still available, the only change is that it will take place in an open hacking room on Jitsi instead on the main livestream, which may actually facilitate the interaction with participants.
If you prefer being on the main track (livestream + recorded, no direct interaction with participants), then I can only offer 17:00 or 18:00.
We're still looking for someone who could facilitate this session: make sure that everyone has a chance to speak, take notes, etc.
If no one volunteers for this task in the upcoming days, we will not schedule it during this hackathon. Maybe it can be run another time, for example during Wikimania's hackathon :)
After discussions with Joaquin, this session is now scheduled for Friday at 18:00 UTC. Enjoy :)
Update: I created a separate task for the dog walk :) T283052
I scheduled one on Sunday 08:00 UTC, but people are encouraged to schedule their own if they want another slot.
@Chicocvenancio Thank you so much!
Because we've been restructuring the schedule a little bit, I'd like to offer two new options for this session:
- if it's fine to run it in 25min: Saturday at 16:00 UTC
- if you need 55min: Saturday at 17:00 UTC.
Can you let me know which one works better for you? Thanks!
May 17 2021
Update: because the owner of this session is unclear for now, we moved it from the main track to an open hacking room, on Saturday at 19:00 UTC. If no one volunteers to run the session before Friday, we will remove this session from the schedule.
Hi @Ash_Crow would you be able to organize and facilitate the Gartic Phone social event on Saturday?

Hey @Jhernandez and thanks for coordinating this session!
We would love to schedule it in the main track, on Saturday 22nd at 17:00 UTC. Let me know before May 17th if this session is confirmed and if the timeslot works for you :) (a later slot on the same day could also be possible if need be)
Very well, thanks for your answers! We will make sure that you have a 2-hours slot and a Jitsi room, on Friday 21st at 19:00 UTC, if this still works for you :)
Hello, and thanks for your proposal!
We would like to offer you to present on Saturday 22nd at 14:00 UTC. Instead of the main track, we would like to offer you to present in one of the hacking rooms on Jitsi, where you will be able to interact directly with the participants and work on a more collaborative way.
How does it work for you? Please let me know before May 17th so we can complete scheduling.
@sdkim Alright, no worries, then we stick to Sunday at 16:00 UTC.
As for the name and description of the session, a final version before May 20 would be great :)
Awesome, thanks! We'll keep you updated regarding technical details soon :)
Thanks for your quick reply. Then I'll put this on hold until someone else volunteer to be the host (in that case, it would mean welcoming participants, facilitating the discussions, and making sure that notes are taken)
Hey @srodlund, so we're thinking of scheduling this session on Saturday, May 22nd, at 17:00 UTC, during 55min, in a hacking room. As agreed, the pre-recorded session from Dan would be presented on the main track beforehand (16:30), and you could even jump in at the end so you can "advertise" the Q&A and encourage people to join you there. Is the time OK for you?
Yes, good idea :)
Hello @sdkim and thanks a lot for proposing this session!
Thanks for your reply @Jane023. I guess it would be useful if some notes are taken during the session, so the feedback/suggestions for improvements can be brought to the tool maintainer in a structured form :)
Here's what we can do: we display Dan's video in the main program, and directly after we follow up with the Q&A in the open room, so people can jump there to chat with you. This would means that this session "Better practices for technical documentation" wouldn't exist as such. Is that OK for you?
May 10 2021
Thanks for offering this session :)
My dear colleague @danshick-wmde cannot attend the hackathon but recorded this introduction to documentation (22min). Do you think we could somehow combine both? Like maybe show the recording before your session, and then you can add more things live? Let me know what you think :)
@Fuzheado Thanks for proposing! I have some questions: would you be able to moderate this roundtable? Do we need @Magnus ? And in the case he can't join, does it make sense to have this roundtable without him?
I would love to have some "dog walking" sessions like last year (people going for a walk outside, filming around and chatting). Probably Sunday morning for me :)
