I see that the list of articles that I am watching is managed here by addWatch and removeWatch. Where does the read/unread information live?

BTW, the original title Have a checkbox beside watchlist entries to mark them as read/ option to not show "read" entries seems more appropriate than the current title, except that it should say "verified", "approved", "accepted" instead of "read".
Restricted Application added a project to T29915: On Special:Watchlist, allow to hide non-bolded ("unread") entries: Growth-Team.
Just to clarify: the "approved version" attribute is supposed to be distinct from "last visited version" attribute. When checking the entries in my watchlist, I often visit several pages that I would like to edit again, but I don't have the time to do that at the moment. It would be very helpful if I could leave those entries in the watchlist, with the "approved" marker unchanged, until I get around to them.
Jorge_Stolfi added a comment to T224640: Feature request: "approved" flag on an article version, that excludes that version and previous edits from the watchlist.
Looks like it is the same functionality, yes. I will comment in that thread.
