Hi all, apologies in advance for this horrid, no-good, evil, dirty hack, but here's a patch which will remove the page element(s) in question. I have given this only cursory testing, and it appears to work fine, but it's entirely possible that in my naïveté, I've missed something terribly obvious, or obviously terrible. Yes, I feel the same compunction about "hacking core" that everyone else does, but… here we are.

OK, I agree. I only asked because I don't know the first thing about Gerrit, and figured GitLab would be easier to get things rolling. It seems like Gerrit is the path of least resistance, however, and I'm fine with going that route instead.

Agreed, I'm just in between a rock and a hard place with no PHP 7.4 in the vendor repos and no ability to update past 1.35.x at present. The newer fork may work with 1.35, but there's no obvious tag or branch for that.

Hi, all. As a long-time user of Extension:PlaceNewSection, I'd look forward to seeing this functionality implemented in core.
Because this issue is a couple of years old, with no follow up about the question of whether the reporter is using MediaWiki-Docker, it's hard to surmise if I'm having the same problem.

Hi everybody. It looks like @Gruniversal's patchset is in an unmergeable state due to it being applied to master, and the global wfGetDB being deprecated (as I am seeing evidence of here). I'm new to MediaWiki development, and still in the initial stages of confusion about Gerrit, so unfortunately I can't suggest a solution for that.
