I'll cover this task, but do you want both autopatrol and patrol removed from the user groups in German Wikipedia?

Can .* <noedit> be removed from the title blacklist on projects that are now fully read-only (only editable by stewards)? Thank you.
@Davidzdh, I created the patch days ago, feel free to review and notify me of any necessary changes. :-)

As of now, only (auto)confirmed users and admins can use ContentTranslation. Thank you.

Is there a community discussion about this? If so, I'll proceed with the task.

TheresNoTime (a deployer) told me on IRC that the patch would probably be delayed on being live, for now until later today or possibly tomorrow.

Another solution would be to allow administrators to grant and remove the confirmed user group, yes?
Mar 25 2026
All done. editor has now been removed, and the same happened for interface-editor (since the latter was probably added by mistake).
The block action for the abuse filter has been activated, with the preset being three days for both registered and unregistered users.
suppressredirect was added to the user groups as of right now, so done.

@Unite_together Is there a community discussion about the removal of these user groups?

interface-editor only contains one right, extendedconfirmed.

I went ahead and changed from accountname to account_name as the former was deprecated as of today (in my time zone) to some abuse filters at English Wikibooks, English Wikiquote, and Meta-Wiki. Anyone with global abuse filter helper rights (at the minimum) can see the changes I've made recently.

For the 3rd one, I need more details. What is a protected filter?

Are you asking for a link to the config file that sets all the namespaces? That is https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/plugins/gitiles/operations/mediawiki-config/+/refs/heads/master/wmf-config/core-Namespaces.php
Is there a Gerrit link for Wikimedia project namespaces?

Would it be better to use user_type != "named"? This simple check should be able to detect all unregistered users.

I just left a message on the Spanish Wikipedia, explaining about the upcoming changes to their abuse filters to support upcoming temporary accounts and to change from user_age > 0 to user_type == "named", and similar. You can read more on https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Filtro_de_ediciones/Implementación#c-Codename_Noreste-20250809060400-Implementación_de_soporte_para_cuentas_temporales_y_actualización_de_user_age.

Unfortunately, for the Spanish Wikipedia, there are five private filters which might have required the change before June 18, but unlike sysops, eswiki's non-admin edit filter managers do not have abusefilter-access-protected-vars.
May 27 2025
Noting that on Meta-Wiki, non-admins, non-checkusers, and users who are not local temporary account IP viewers can no longer view IP Info's basic information (via ipinfo-view-basic). On the other hand, some global groups (such as abuse filter helpers and maintainers, global rollbackers, and U4C members) only have the ipinfo right, which explains the similar situation I just explained.
Apr 10 2025
Noting here that the AbuseFilter option available in local preference pages on Meta-Wiki and Test Wikipedia (for example) is not available as it might have been merged with the Temporary account IP reveal tick option.
Noting here that this applies to Meta-Wiki or Test Wikipedia for example, where I hold the global abuse filter helper permission.

Abuse filter syntax code and regex of a private global filter, to be exact.

On Google Docs where I maintain GAF 365's code, I've adjusted that code to prevent any more false positives, and I'm not commenting any more about the global filter without spilling any beans.

[see https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:AbuseLog/2803401 for context] Under my alternative account, I've decided to test if it will show me the CAPTCHA, and it didn't; it just allowed me to create the page completely.

I left a note on WP:VPT about this on https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Village_pump_(technical)#Ongoing_Phabricator_request_to_remove_the_spamblacklistlog_right_from_the_edit_filter_helper_right rather than WT:EFH since the latter has minimal participation.
