Can you confirm that that's still the case? And would you agree that we should remove Bible, Skathi (moon), and Chief executive officer as false positives?

Hey @kostajh -- if I understand correctly, you're saying that you'll send all of the collected emails on Monday, but that I can easily delete the ones that have already received an email by sorting via timestamps? If that's correct, that works great! (More generally, as long as I can determine who hasn't received an email yet, it will work great.)

I believe that link should point to their general terms of service, which is actually located at https://mailchimp.com/legal/terms/, but I've reached out to the Legal team to confirm as there is also a Spanish language version. I'll bring the answer back here as soon as I receive it.

@MMiller_WMF @RHo we did have them prepare a mobile mockup, but it wasn't what we were looking for. However, there were other priorities at the time and we decided to move ahead with only the desktop mockup. Our plan was to include the full text on both the desktop and mobile landing pages, but we'd be open to discussing limiting that, perhaps at tomorrow's steering committee meeting. I'm fine with having no hyperlinks in the header. (I'll remove that from the slide now.)

@MShilova_WMF We finalized the text today and have sent it for translation. The interviews that we'll be including in the video are not yet complete, and the ETA on it is approximately two weeks out. We were hoping that any other Commons video could stand in as a placeholder for it, prior to the project going live, until that's complete.

Thanks for all this work, @kostajh and @RHo! I know it's a lot of frustrating work to test videos across browsers, and I appreciate it. (Commons video formats were an absolute bear to deal with on WordPress back when I worked on the old Wikimedia Blog. They'd even automatically start downloading if you clicked on them in certain browser! We ended up having to include captions directing people using those browsers to watch the videos on other sites.)

Given that we'd like to welcome the new editors, the emails need to get to them within a reasonable timeframe. We would prefer to send them twice a week, but at a minimum we'd really need at least once per week.

Thanks for these ideas, Marshall! A username field is something we would appreciate having but isn't a need if it takes a non-trivial amount of time to build. Our current plan calls for a graphical intro banner in lieu of a personal hello, and it would be great to have the flexibility to make changes if the emails are less successful than we'd like.

My thanks to you both! @kostajh, those screenshots look great overall. I'm assuming there will still be a place for a user to enter their email address? :-)

It's roughly 50/50 desktop/mobile views, but it's such a strange entry that I'm having trouble accepting it. (This is as opposed to the YouTube article, which is probably the result of people mistakenly navigating there instead of the website!)

Hey @cchen -- we have one extra ask that came up later... Would it be possible to add in views from redirects once we have a top 50? We suspect that doing this would add a lot of pageviews to the COVID pages especially, which have been moved several times since the beginning of the pandemic = those old titles are now redirects.

The overlays are not loading for me either. Windows machine on Firefox. (To be clear, at the link provided anyone testing this needs to hover over "index" and click "open page overlay", which I originally didn't understand!)

Hi @Micru! This unfortunately isn't something we're going to be able to do, as the blog will be moving into the new Foundation website when it is deployed. My apologies!

@Volker_E I think we could survive without it being translated, especially if doing so would require using up a large amount of staff (read: your!) time. It's not ideal, of course, but almost all of the content on the blog is English-only, and even WMDE's banner is only in German.

@Varnent Mel and I chatted quick—we're fine with either approach as long as it works on a technical level. I'm personally a little worried about the link to the home page from the logo in the top left, but that could be disabled in the current blog's code as part of this process. @Tbayer do you have an idea of the amount of work that would be required to add a banner like WMDE's?

@Legoktm Chrome! Using "inspect" says that the font family is monospace.
