I take offense to the use of the word "bogus" here. We spent a lot of effort and time into that research. Never before has there been a blanket IP ban on a project of this scale. There have been some brief experiments in the past that have not had successful outcomes. Both of those experiments are 6+ years old and again, not on this scale. Please don't call the report bogus because you find it hard to agree with the results.

We are not shying away from the work that needs to be done for IP masking to happen. We are not imagining a future where all projects block IP edits and solve IP Masking for us. In fact I don't think most projects will block IP editing. But I don't see why we shouldn't support those project which really need to take this step because of the amount of vandalism they face on a daily basis.
