Notes:
- cost of ownership are higher
- more error prone - would need communication to the users + follow up action items
- better out of the box edit summaries

Hello, I'm the one who started the thread on IRC. To clarify, I'm aware that a get request to https://www.mediawiki.org/w/api.php?action=query&list=allimages&aiprop=user%7Ctimestamp%7Curl&aisort=timestamp&aidir=older returns more-or-less the same info as is available at the page https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Special:NewFiles . What I'd like is the ability to make an API request that returns the same info as is available at https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:NewFiles . The second page has many more pictures available. Note that the first page has only a couple of pictures from September, then before that nothing all the way back to mid March.

We'll do it next year instead.

PBs not translated is not much of a concern IMHO for scowiki, given that all Scots speak English. MediaWiki is just at 18% translated for Scots. If they voted for partial blocks we should assume they knew what they were voting for. Of course encouraging them to translate MediaWiki further is not a bad idea either.

As I stated on T237101#5626664 this can be done directly by any of the current gerrit admins: https://tools.wmflabs.org/ldap/group/gerritadmin. The bottleneck here, I feel, is that we need more involvement with the current rights holders in monitoring both MediaWiki-Gerrit-Group-Requests and Gerrit-Privilege-Requests. Even regular mediawiki +2 requests are meant to be resolved within one week if there are no objections.
@hashar it supports NoteDB as of a few weeks ago, but does have some limitations anyways.
@ifried @MusikAnimal I have noted some potential issues below. I am sure there are more, as there are probably always going to be exceptions to any rules. It depends how fussy we want to be.
Not opaque:
If you want to count pages, then you are only looking at the current revision, right? And the current revision of a page is by definition never deleted/suppressed. So no need to check rev_deleted.

[mediawiki/core@master] Fix Shawiya's autonym in Names.php
@kai.nissen Done, I also resolved the merge conflict that we had because of the weird timing with banner 14 and 15, please double-check real quick that I did not break the whole banner while resolving that.
This should be supported with the online indexer I think (I remember testing this but it was on a different version and also a while ago)
Change 554263 merged by jenkins-bot:
[integration/config@master] Update tox, add python3.6 to operations/puppet
It looks like it also has other limitations that might make the plugin unusable in our install as well.
