@Mazevedo - When I tried the steps in the ticket, it reproduced right away, but only once. I’ve tried the steps a bunch of times, and also other variations. I tried reinstalling, and I just don't see it anymore. My current theory is that the app should be set to default (match system theme), then allowed to change from light to dark to light overnight, and the next morning. At this point, changing the theme to sepia might reproduce this. I will try again over the next days.

I am seeing this frequently on the latest Android app version in test (50566-r-2026-02-02). For example, I am seeing it on today’s featured article (Saxual Sparrow) but not yesterday's (Rosa Parks). In both cases, the image appears fine in the explore feed, but fails to render in article view. Roughly half of the top ten articles also have this behavior.

I was asked to look into this and try to find some reproducible steps. I have seen this issue on 3 of the 4 physical devices I have tried thus far. I have not been able to narrow down any steps. I have also noticed that sometimes the audio fails to play on devices where it previously worked fine. I tried starting with the volume turned off and on. I tried in do not disturb mode, personal mode, focus mode, and so on. I also tried scrolling quickly vs. slowly to the audio portions, but I don’t think it affects reproducibility.

Also, after logging back in, if the user selects Clear Reading History, the history remains visible. In other words, clearing reading history seems to have no effect.

After logging out, the user is presented with a login/create account prompt, but there is a small dismiss button. Dismissing it casues this screen where it in unclear what to do.
