My opinion is to let the browser do the rendering. We just have to strip the javascript withing the SVG on upload to prevent XSS attacks.
There is no need to render SVG to PNG in 2022, all browsers support it! https://caniuse.com/svg
The PNG is heavier and consume more storage and bandwidth.
I would just suggest to strip the javascript of the SVGs to prevent XSS attacks, and we would be good to go by just using SVGs.

I'm no longer having this problem. Idk if anyone did any change, but Wikipedia is working correctly for me now on Firefox 98 and 99, on the same device.

I only know about the basics of nameservers, the other option I could see would be if there was a way to use google 8.8.8.8 as a fallback to solve problematic domains.

While we don't get a reply, maybe we could just add NIH domains in /etc/hosts
