The copying and paste is working but it is appearing in my assets, It's saying i should "publish" but i can't since i use the figma free version

Hi, it's okay for the components to appear in your 'Assets' area as this is where any components / assets from your file or added libraries will appear. If you copy and paste individual assets as needed you do not need to publish the full library to use it. You can use copy and pasted assets locally on your file with a free account.
