No, deprecated doesn't seem semantically or functionally appropriate here. It signals that the parameter is outdated and shouldn't be used, whereas these are perfectly valid advanced options that should be used when needed. It can also confuse future template editors why the parameter was flagged as deprecated. A proper "advanced" or "hidden" status would communicate the right intent without confusing editors or maintainers, while also making it possible to differentiate it in the TemplateDialog UI.

Two notes:
I'm not sure what's the benefit of re-adding this icon. Since the other tools don't have any, it would create unnecessary visual contrast that draws the eye to this item, even though Atom is not more important than the other tools. The icon doesn't even help clarifying what the item does, changing it to Atom feed would be more helpful and clear for the uninitiated.

Seems like I've mixed up something. The protection log shows the event, but right after the page was renamed and the protection moved with it, but the log entry remained at the old name.

I was able to review the file with a reviewed edit I made. So the ticket can be closed, I'm just not sure whether you want to keep it open to check the cause or not.
Note: Variations can be a workaround for nicely displaying numbered parameters (T54582)
Small note that the sets key exists and it's similar, but not identical, as grouped parameters are grouped "thematically" and not by function: they don't have to be used together to function.

Ooh nice, this is so elegant.
Actually, I don’t find it that difficult to handle: I probably want to search for a country anyway, not browse by continent, and searching is already simple thanks to the alphabetic listing and the autocomplete feature in both VisualEditor and the wikitext editor. Of course, labels are painfully missing, but those alone would be enough IMO for this template.
Another example: Zászló-NOB (Flag-IOC)
Found a rather complex example related to this, though I'm not sure how common it is to justify a broader scope: Ásvány (mineral) infobox

No worries, thanks for the quick turnaround! :)

If I understand correctly, this change was merged and released, but the issue still persists on the de, nl, and hu wikis. On frwiki, however, it appears to respect the configured order now.
This ticket has two tasks. The one with the paramorder was resolved as noted. The other on non-descriptive JSON syntax errors is a duplicate of T52511.

Meanwhile, a user found another workaround: In the TemplateWizard's search field, type the template name in full and press Enter. This opens up the next step, even if the template doesn't appear in the search results.

Currently in the Editing preferences it says:
A couple of follow-up questions for the prior discussion:
- Was the button intended to be used only for a limited period (such as a few months) after the release?
- If so, for wikis where the new skin has been enabled for over a year, is it acceptable to the MediaWiki team if a wiki hides this menu item? Also, do you expect the CSS class names used here to be reused in the future?
