I answered on T252708: to me, this issue will be solved with the solution proposed there.

@ppelberg , I tested on French Wikipedia (after your ping on T250127): the solution of having a : in both cases seems to work everytime :)

Can't you just replace the url instead of searching for an archive? There is no redirection, alright, but the content is the same under the same ID (page name : "riegla" in the example above), only the website changed, and there is no .htm extension. It's a pitty to have an archive while we can have the true website, isn't it?
