Why was this task closed? It's still happening.

Note that WP:VPT#Watchlist bug? also includes another bug: Expand/collapse arrow markers are always gray; never green as they should be when there are unvisited changes hidden inside the collapsed watchlist entry. If you want to keep these separate I reported this as T342445, which was redirected to VPT.

/* top */ is how the Wikipedia editor labels the lead section, the section not in any subsection, in its summaries. You would edit it in 1Q84 by clicking the edit link directly adjacent to the article title at the top of the article.

You did reproduce it. It the .png file you attach, the text "During a siege to invest a town or fortress means to surround it with a contravallation and a circumvallation" should be red, but it isn't. If you go back to the URL you give, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Hatnote?useskin=minerva#Examples_of_improper_use, you can see that it changes from black to red when you remove and "?useskin=minerva", and similarly if you remove ".m" from https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Hatnote#Examples_of_improper_use

You're quite right. I found it in the Chromium bug database. It's http://crbug.com/933183. I'll close it here. Thanks for checking.

For the record, this is a dup of T14396.
Yes, on investigation, both of these include a template "{{United States topics}}" at the bottom, which expands to include the electoral college article. Still, this seems like really undesirable behavior. Is there already a bug for this?
