I mostly edit medical content over on English Wikipedia. Not a programmer myself but have a lot of ideas that can benefit from the skills of programmers :-)
Jun 10 2021
Very nice. Good to know :-)
May 26 2021
Here is a smaller amount of content were the ref do not come through
Here is an example
May 15 2021
We, at Wiki Project Med, will try to build a work around. Basically what we will do is expand all the references in a userspace for the content to be translated. https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User:Mr._Ibrahem/Tropical_sprue2&diff=1023306255&oldid=1023305378&diffmode=source
Here we have another article and language in which the translation tool struggles

Getting this tool working faster would be excellent....
Feb 24 2021
Okay we have managed to figure things out. Hassim has figured out how to log in and is giving a few more of us admin access so we can maintain the project. You can close this request as solved.
Feb 18 2021
Yes that is correct. The software appears to need a restart and we need to be an admin to do that https://videowiki.wmflabs.org/en/videowiki/Wikipedia:VideoWiki/Periodontitis?wikiSource=https://en.wikipedia.org

I can confirm that the board discussed this proposal and their was only support for making the change in question.
May 7 2020
These for example are amazing https://ourworldindata.org/policy-responses-covid
May 6 2020
Thanks Aklapper will ask them to see if they can figure that out :-)
We are using these in videowiki, such as here on Fr WP https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikip%C3%A9dia:VideoWiki/Maladie_%C3%A0_coronavirus_2019
May 5 2020
It is interested that we have this with a white background https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/9/96/Symptoms_of_coronavirus_disease_2019_2.0.svg
But we have a line that says "This image rendered as PNG in other widths: 200px, 500px, 1000px, 2000px." Could those not have a white background?
Yes exactly viewing in Chrome.
May 1 2020
Thanks you to all who worked on this :-)
Apr 12 2020
This is wonderful. Thank you :-)
Apr 4 2020
@millimeter summed it up beautifully with " we should aim to have a world map graph template just like [OWID], regardless of what we have to do with the graph extension or services behind it"
Mar 28 2020
Agree with John I am not sure. I can describe what is wanted. I need someone with technical expertise to help determine how these things are carried out. With respect to the first one "Stretch the legend so it takes up about 80% of the width of the frame". How do we do that?
Mar 27 2020
Thanks @Mrjohncummings This would be amazing :-) And many benefits beyond the COVID-19 outbreak.
Mar 26 2020
This will be wonderful... We will bring it into the ref tool bar I hope https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:RefToolbar/2.0
Mar 18 2020
Great will try this out. So add this here than? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Doc_James/common.js
Mar 16 2020
Okay so we can use that also...
Thanks Bawolff agree you have solved a bunch of the problems :-) I guess the formating in the app is really the only one left.
Looks like we have a solution, a [show all] button which I hope addresses that issue.
So discussion on Wikipedia is here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template_talk:2019%E2%80%9320_coronavirus_pandemic_data#Implementing_a_collapsible_view_option

@Jpita looking at your draft and I see that a bunch of the references have gone missing.
Likely we need to put together a team interested in working on data visualization on Wikipedia from a technical point of view.
Yes not sure...
Okay I am not sure what parts of the software needs to be change to bring about the desired results.

Jan 28 2020
Specifically when the group of diffs since the article was last seen results in no changes.
Jan 13 2020
Thanks John. Agree this will be important down the road. We have more than 3,000 data sets at OWID. So the impact they are having will be a good metric for us gaining further tech support to improve our visualizations.
Jan 12 2020
@Aklapper is that the project that makes this work?
By the way it makes these graphs work
No not part of an existing phab project. This is the underlying tool https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Template:Graph:World_Historical_Highlights

Thanks @Jayprakash12345 There is still a fair bit of work to do to get the tool working across the board. For example it does not handle large files currently.

Is it possible to double or triple the maximum allowed size?
Sure so I tried to add a bunch more data for another 100 years here https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Data:CO2PerCapita.tab
Trimmed the first 100 years of data and placed it here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_carbon_dioxide_emissions#Per_capita_CO2_emissions

I really like this idea. The question is what degree of anonymity should be given to the reporter? Probably only a small group should be able to see who is reporting as we want to protect reporters from potential retribution or even fear of retribution. But we do need some mechanism to prevent abuse of this system.
Sep 4 2019
Tool is not live on Commons yet... Should we wait until that is the case before closing this?
Aug 25 2019
I think so... Plan to check it out in more detail soon.

Wonderful thanks. How long before this patch is applied?
Yes we have a number of collaborations that are waiting on this...
Jun 24 2019
I do not see why not.
Jun 11 2019
Okay thanks TheDJ. So we can use CTT markup? And so will need a Wikimedia Markup to CTT markup converter than?
Okay so what is the solution? Is it that we cannot have wiki links or markup in captions anymore? Or is there a work around / changes that simple need to be made for this to work again?
Okay so we are looking at 2021 to have this completed?
May 30 2019
I guess the question is how useful will the data be if run on older edits? Might be interesting to look. I assume that it will not be useful do to all the false positives from mirrors of WP but not certain.
May 29 2019
@Aklapper from what I understand I have their explicit agreement
Sure. From what I understand I have there agreement @Aklapper
Okay slit into
May 4 2019
Yes we need to get https://tools.wmflabs.org/mediaviews/ back up and running. We need to be able to determine if people are interested in watching video viw Wikipedia. This will help our community priorities efforts on VideoWiki https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:WikiProject_Videowiki
Getting these sort of stats is important for our Videowiki efforts.

Perfect thanks :-)
Wonderful. Thank you.
So the data set is

Wonderful news Smartse. Anything further you need help on? I will connect you with a student who is also interested in this work.
Apr 2 2019
Amir will be the one working on it.
Also cutting video and trimming video are both fairly big tasks. We need to
stay focused to succeed in just these :-)
Basically people will be starting from the page for the video on Commons.
They will be at the video they wish to cut. No extra search feature needed.
Commons has a search feature.
Apr 1 2019
I am not sure why this is included in my watchlist?
Mar 25 2019
Yes key we get this up and running again. I have pinged Ryan Kaldari.
