I thought the consensus was limited to deleting only the pages returned by the query that HoR shared, which is why I stopped my bot. Thanks to Ladsgroup for taking care of the rest of the cleanup, and please feel free to ping me anytime if you need my help.

Done! Extension disabled.
Aug 16 2025
The local discussion has lasted almost two weeks, and there is support to disable the extension. It is no longer useful and is creating unnecessary talk pages.

@dcaro: I think the web service is down again. I cannot access it.

@SHB2000: Deployed.
@SHB2000 : According to the MediaWiki manual, "If you list more than one permission for a given namespace, a user must have all of them to edit pages in that namespace". So, we need to fix this by setting 828 => ['autoconfirmed'], because with the current config, users need to be in both groups. After making this change, manually granted confirmed users won't be able to edit modules. Are you okay with me uploading a patchset to fix this? Just confirming, because your community wants both groups to be able to edit modules.

I think there are some issues with the deployment (not with this patch). It is not 100% merged because the deployer had to abort it, so please do not close this task until the patch is fully merged.
@MGA73: The changes are live now. There was a backport window right after I uploaded this patch, so I went ahead and scheduled it, and it has now been merged. I initially forgot about the deadline but doing it four days early shouldn’t be an issue since the RfC was already closed on 22 January.

Sorry for the delay. I have scheduled this for deployment. The next backport window is on 13th January.

Ah, ok, I have restored the patch. I plan to deploy it tomorrow during the UTC morning or afternoon backport window. If anyone is available, feel free to deploy it in the UTC late backport window tonight.
French Wikinews copyright footer is manually written on-wiki at MediaWiki:Copyright-footer and is not connected to config variables. Since they want to use CC-BY-SA-4.0, which is the default license, there is no need for any config changes.

From reading the above comments, it seems that this needs more discussion, but you are free to move it back to the Backlog board.

I am uploading a patch for French wikinews. We can do the German wikinews in a new patch once a decision is made.

Patch updated.
@MGA73: Merry Christmas to you too! I am tweaking the patch to include nlwikinews and rowikinews.
Dec 24 2024
The next backport window is on 30 December, so we will have to wait until then.

Sorry, I mistakenly assigned it to myself. I did not work on it.

I will tweak the patch shortly.

I am unable to rename your account from 'Scott' to 'Hex' because the username 'Hex' is still linked to a Wikitech account in CentralAuth. When I attempt the renaming, an error message states: "There are unattached accounts using the requested username".
This means Scott needs to submit a request at Wikitech:Rename requests to rename their Wikitech account from Hex to Scott. Once that is done, they can link it to their Scott account, and after this step is complete, we can proceed with the rename process.
