Visual Editor is not a good editing UI. It's highly confusing, hard to navigate, extremely heavyweight and is full of bugs. None of the Russian editing gadgets work with it, and those gadgets are essential for productivity. I therefore strongly oppose merging the tabs for the old-style editor and VE, as the latter is clearly not yet ready for production.
