GKFX added a comment to T262066: Make it possible to tell if Reply Tool is open from browser tab's name.

I think if you are replying to something you probably remember the topic of the page, to answer DLynch’s point, and in any case you can mouseover if needed. Some contexts let you see more of the tab title than others so there’s a “progressive enhancement” argument to be made there too.
This is a good idea, and it might as well say “Replying:” rather than “Editing” since that is the text of the button you click and will let us distinguish the tabs from an actual edit window.

GKFX added a comment to T157625: I want a way in wikitext mode to identify that a selection shouldn't be treated as wikitext.

From Talk:Talk pages project/Replying: why not make the <code> button output <nowiki> tags at the same time? It is quite unusual to want hand-formatted code tags (e.g. <code>x<b>y</b>z</code>) so this would rarely be an inconvenience to anyone and avoids button clutter.

GKFX added a comment to T78176: Refactor thumbnail styles (drop unsemantic names, and rewrite magnify rules in scope of thumbnails).

That is interesting: it’s a class that I’d seen around for a while, including in documentation, but it’s obviously much less popular than I thought. And yeah floating to the left is less popular in general than floating to the right and your stats reflect that.

GKFX added a comment to T78176: Refactor thumbnail styles (drop unsemantic names, and rewrite magnify rules in scope of thumbnails).

Is it really appropriate to break an existing part of how tables are formatted on major wikis just to clean up the styles of image thumbnails? By all means the way thumbnails are styled can change, but tables styled as {| class="wikitable floatright" are very common and should continue to work. It allows consistency in appearance with only one word of code to learn for editors. It also is straightforward to change in a skin as e.g. Minerva can just ignore that class. By contrast, inline style on pages like style="float:right;clear:right;margin: 0 0 0.5em 0.5em is a lot to remember and type for editors, will inevitably get changed and broken when copied around articles, and has to be explicitly overridden by any skin that doesn’t want the default appearance.

GKFX added a comment to T91154: {{=}} should be a parser function.

Can {{=}} be parsed as an equal sign only if it has no parameters?

If a magic word doesn't support parameters (as is the case for {{!}} and will be the case for {{=}}), it just ignores any parameters passed in.

GKFX added a comment to T208840: Monitor user reports about imaginary conflicts.

I get it on a page which isn't a talk page: https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=File:Vendimia_mecanizada.ogv&action=edit. I've tried navigating away and coming back; the issue remains.

GKFX added a comment to T207929: Lazy loaded images: Styles are not copied across from img tags when an image is lazy loaded.

This is working: the flags have different vertical alignments (using the URL Jdlrobson supplied). The HTML of the image tag (taken with Firefox developer tools' Copy > Outer HTML) is

<img alt="" src="//upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/d/d4/Flag_of_Hungary_vertical.svg/20px-Flag_of_Hungary_vertical.svg.png" style="vertical-align: baseline" srcset="//upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/d/d4/Flag_of_Hungary_vertical.svg/30px-Flag_of_Hungary_vertical.svg.png 1.5x, //upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/d/d4/Flag_of_Hungary_vertical.svg/40px-Flag_of_Hungary_vertical.svg.png 2x" data-file-width="600" data-file-height="1200" width="20" height="40">
