Hi @Zack ! Are you able to fix this issue ?
May 12 2019
Hi! As @Meno25 mentionned, tool can be limited to specific user groups (sysops, rollbackers, fileimporters and editors). Also, by defaut, we can add to those imported files the existing category [[Category:Files moved from ar.wikipedia to Commons requiring review]].
Oct 8 2018
Thank you @Aklapper , I followed your procedure. It works!

Here is an example of what is done actually on Arabic Wikipedia.

@Urbanecm Do you want to claim the task? Or can you refer us to someone?

See this also as a possible way to fix the bug later on MediaWiki

@TJones , yes please the completition suggester would be usefull in Arabic projects. Thank you.

Hi @Amire80 , as discussed recently with you and @eranroz, here is the task about changing Arabic numbers for Arabic language. If you know someone in W3C, please ask them to:
- Offer the possibility for websites developpers/browsers to select the kind of numbers to use on their platform.
- If it’s possible, set up western Arabic numbers as the default ones.
Jul 18 2018
@ The problem is still existing. Probably to fix it we need probably to contact W3C as per below :

@Urbanecm , I removed community approval tag, but it seems related somewhere with Wikimedia-Site-requests. Thank you for the review.

I think it's time to test Wikidata based meta general infoboxes. I just came from WikiIndaba 2018 (African conference) where we discussed the importance of having that tool to develop African languages Wikis.
We can start by two infoboxes :
Meta infobox for human settlements
Meta infobox for humans

@TerraCodes it seems that the regular flagged has been removed from other ns than ns=0 instead of only removing the quality revision (see above) on those ns.
I made a test here https://ar.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D9%82%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%A8:%D9%85%D8%B3%D8%AA%D8%AE%D8%AF%D9%85_%D8%B3%D9%81%D9%8A%D8%B1_%D9%84%D9%83%D9%8A%D9%88%D9%8A%D9%83%D8%B3

I think that there is a misunderstanding. What @Csisc is really requesting is adding Arabic dialects/Arabic languages (That't not the point) for monolingual text values in Wikidata.
From what I understood here, you need to request it separately for each dialect/language. See here T184783 for example for the request I made for Shawiya language/Shawiya Berber dialect . As per en-us or en-gb there is no need to repeat the information existing already in the fallback language en . But it's used only when there is a specific term for that dialect/language.

Thank you both for the tag and tutorial.
Unfortunately, I don't see any edits in my local wiki even for the last 30 days when I apply the tag.

@TerraCodes thank you for claiming the task. If you have any question we are available here.

@Dereckson Please take off the - Community-consensus-needed tag - since I already added a link for that 6 months ago.

Hi @Dbrant ,
That's a good question, here some reasons to promote specifically QRpedias (but allowing scanning all kinds of QR codes would be also great):
- It has an MIT License and it is owned and operated by a subsidiary of Wikimedia UK (WMUK), so it's going to be easier for later development. (https://code.google.com/archive/p/qrwp/)
- QRpedia also records usage statistics, see http://theglamwikiexperience.blogspot.ca/2012/04/qrpedia-use-at-fundacio-miro-case-study.htm as an example. GLAMs need that data to keep evaluating the project and ofr us it's a great way to convince new GLAMs.
- Above all, QRpedias can handle language issues related to Wikipedia articles. As it's mentioned in the wiki page about QRpedia « When a user scans a QRpedia QR code on their mobile device, the device decodes the QR code into a Uniform Resource Locator (URL) using the domain name "languagecode.qrwp.org" and whose path (final part) is the title of a Wikipedia article, and sends a request for the article specified in the URL to the QRpedia web server. It also transmits the language setting of the device.[4] The QRpedia server then uses Wikipedia's API[1] to determine whether there is a version of the specified Wikipedia article in the language used by the device, and if so, returns it in a mobile-friendly format.[4] If there is no version of the article available in the preferred language, then the QRpedia server offers a choice of the available languages, or a Google translation. ».

Also, please allow the QRcode/Wikipedia app to take stats (numbers of visits using that QRcode, language selected, ..) since that kind of information is useful to convince GLAMs about the possible outreach: see here as an example: http://theglamwikiexperience.blogspot.ca/2012/04/qrpedia-use-at-fundacio-miro-case-study.html

@Meno25 There is no opposition in the sister projects (notifications made more than 3 weeks ago). How can we assign now the task to someone?

I gave a wrong link of the community approval. Here is the right one :
https://ar.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D9%88%D9%8A%D9%83%D9%8A%D8%A8%D9%8A%D8%AF%D9%8A%D8%A7:%D8%A7%D9%84%D9%85%D9%8A%D8%AF%D8%A7%D9%86/%D8%B3%D9%8A%D8%A7%D8%B3%D8%A7%D8%AA/10/2016#.D8.AD.D8.B0.D9.81_.D8.A7.D9.84.D9.86.D8.B3.D8.AE.D8.A9_.D8.A7.D9.84.D9.85.D8.AF.D9.82.D9.82.D8.A9
@Meno25 , there is already an approval
Approval :
We voted in Arabic Wikipedia for the exclusive use of Western Arabic numerals (WAN) (0, 1, 2 ) instead of allowing the use of Eastern Arabic numerals (EAN) (٠ - ١ - ٢) when editing.
21 for / none against

Is there a possibility to do the same as in the old ticket below. It seems that the problem is already fixed for Arabic Egyptian Wikipedia
https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/rMW883bcb5a0bebcf2663ae1cecf58b59eeb0a7c138
@Meno25 what do you think ?
Even in Wikidata or wikispecies when I select Egyptian Arabic I see western and not eastern numbers. That's what we need western numbers for all Arabic projects even the multilingual ones.
Jul 30 2017
Hi @Dereckson @Luke081515 , did you see the approval above? Is there something else that you need to do the task ( limit the Quality version of the flagged revision in Arabic Wikipedia to ns=0).
Hi @Nemo_bis , is there something new? Did you verify the support? It's been a long time sine your last comment here.
Dec 1 2016
@Nemo_bis Thank you for your reply. For the multilingual projects, the problem is still persistent. take a look for example at the recent changes in these projects and select Arabic as a reading language, you are going to see the Indian numbers.

@Nikerabbit Can you fix the problem right now?
@Dereckson As mentioned above there is a community approval (made in the pump village) to restrict the use of the quality flagged revision (and not the regular flagged revision which also exists in ar.wiki) to ns=0. Thank you.
Oct 20 2016
@Urbanecm @Kelson We just want to include the namespace PORTAL (arabic : بوابة) as a content namespace for ZIM only in ALL Arabic wikimedia projects. Please, be sure to don't add ns=100 as a content namespace for Arabic wikimedia projects (to avoid increasing the number of pages in Arabic projects - https://ar.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:AllPages&hideredirects=1 -).
Oct 19 2016
@Kelson @Urbanecm , I've just put a discussion in the village pump. I'm gonna close the discussion in 2 weeks.

Hi @Nikerabbit, it's better, I think, to apply it to all MediaWiki installs. It's a general problem not only related to WF.

Hi, who can split the tasks ?
Oct 15 2015
@Meno25, thank you for your comments. Yes, it's better to split it in 3 tasks (in the way you mentioned) since they are not linked.
@Aklapper, as Meno25 said, it's better to fix the problem for Mediawiki and not only for Wikipedia. We don't have a seperate community in Arabic sister projects (we don't have communities at all). All sysops for sister projects are active wikipedians.
@revi And yes, I definetively need to read more about phabricator ;)

yes
Sorry I'm a newbie in phabricator. I tagged OTRS because it's a mailing list about OTRS and I tagged confidential because I thought it needs to use tools to make it just accessible to OTRS-AR users.
Sorry again.

@Krenair, may be @Dereckson is busy. Can you handle the step 2 ?

May 14 2015
Elph found a problem in his task. The bot movepages.py can't overwrite existing page which is our cas with redirect pages.
May 12 2015
Thank you Elph,
We are waiting for your bot redirect. Tell me if there is an existing page in the main namespace. I can merge the content.
Hey Dereckson ! Thank you for taking this task. I asked our bot specialist (User:Elph) to participate in this discussion. Technically he can do the step one.
