While I can keep using an Commons AWB session I am already logged into, I cannot open a new session. Instead I receive an error popup: "Login failed [white x in red circle] Aborted" How can this be fixed. Thanks

I do try, but mistakes happen. I am using Find and Replace strings and this sometimes results in categories that don't (don't yet) exist. Thus the red-link errors.
I hope you will reconsider the 'low' priority assignment.
MOS says not to have links to categories that do not exist. AWB rules of use say not to make changes that result in work for others to fix. An Admin who works on cleaning up red-linked categories has told me that if I do any more AWB edits that result in red linked categories, she will block me from using WP. I ask for your help so I can continue to use AWB for efficient editing, without making such category mistakes.
Thanks,
hmains

Thanks for all help here.
I had a hard time trying to figure out what to do with the phabricator screens. Such as knowing when my request actually was submitted and what to do next to exit
I request a valid category check prior to save in AWB

Yes, it was regex with the parenthesis that was the problem. So another problem when using regex which is not very clean, not separating content from commands.
This may not be new with this version of AWB; it may just be the first time I had to use parenthesis in a skip.
Thanks

Lochs of Stirling (council area) is the basis of my list
then I have a skip
for
Lochs of Stirling (council area)
so every article should be skipped; instead, none are skipped
The same thing happens in real cases, when the skip is different, such as Lakes of Stirling (council area)
Change the skip to Lakes of Stirling and the skip works fine.
Harold.
