FWIW, Znuny has helped us before, in 2013 (T24622). Znuny was founded by Martin Edenhofer, the original author of OTRS.

FWIW the oversight capacities live in RevisionDelete.

You're basically onto it @bd808 , what I would consider the three bundles of tools:
- Moderation tools–the revisiondeletion suite that serves mainly administrators and oversighters
- Editing tools–undo and user-created revert tools, editing scripts, talk page templates
- Documentation tools–page history and logs, user contribution history and logs

Documentation for setting fallback images on Commons is up: https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:Graph#User_defined_fallback

Thanks, Mark. And my apologies, folks, I didn't catch what the final decisions were on architecture between the go-ahead for this in mid-May and where we wound up. We'll work on making sure documentation is in order for setting fallback images, and get the word out about it to communities. I think this affects around ten to twelve wikis that actively use the graph tag in some way, I'll go back over the data.

I've asked someone from Engineering to clarify some things here, I think there's some misunderstandings but I'm not deep enough into the technical terms to answer on my own.
Jun 30 2020
At this point it looks like we're a little over two weeks out from release:
Jun 15 2020
FYI: this work is still on track to be completed by the end of this month. We'll continue to provide updates as we get closer.

May 21 2020
This round of SDC completed, as far as IRC office hours goes. We will do more in the future for the next round.
This isn't happening in any form discussed in 2017 at least and not for the last grant cycle, so no.

More outreach is in the works, including Tech News.

I've emailed tech ambassadors and made a first post at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template_talk:Graph:Chart

Correct, thank you.
Apr 29 2020
I'll touch base with folks on this tomorrow.
Apr 28 2020
Tweak on the above, more terse:

"Certain types of files, such as artwork or images of people, and some concepts may be excluded from computer-aided tagging. Please see the blocklist for more information." or something?
Apr 13 2020
Copyright modeling and discussions/edits are taking place and have taken place, but without organized formalities from the WMF end. Copyright modeling choices are up to the community.
Mar 16 2020
I'd highly suggest keeping the discussion focused on implementation of process to mitigate abuse. I think the interest is clearly there for these file formats, the continuing ask in return is "How are we going to make sure these files are safe?"
I'm aware of how old this ticket is and the pain it's caused trying to move it forward. There seems to be some miscommunication going on here and it's escalating, I'm going to work with some folks on clarifying intentions.

I certainly think I do. However, it's probably good for you as the owner to document it here. I started this task as a placeholder, I meant to do so last week or so :)
Thanks; can you clarify this in the task description? It'd be great to have it just how you want it.
@DNdubane_WMF Is there further support that we can provide that you might need here? Do you need another blog published?
Mar 4 2020
Thanks for filing this, Aaron. I plan to have this resourced for you within the next week.
Mar 2 2020
Fair enough, thanks for the responses!

My only concern is around CC-0. SDC managed to avoid the political minefield of CC-0 within Commons by making such contributions optional; there are many that are firmly ideologically opposed to CC-0. If I'm reading this proposal right, the UW would automatically generate CC-0 contributions. I'm not 100% sure how well that will go down with the rest of the Commons community.

Once a contractor is hired and onboarded to the project, we'll start the outreach to the few places actively using this tag. Still very much a WIP.
We still have to do the "hard launch," putting Special:SuggestedTags in the visible sitelinks on the sidebar.
I'd say this is done. The blog post was to be authored by Pam, but she's now left the WMF and it's not needed at this point.

@Pigsonthewing there seems to be a misunderstanding, as Ramsey hopefully clarified above. We agree that you should be able to put categories, user pages, Commons pages, etc. into the search bar, hit enter, and go to that page. Removing this ability was unintentional, and it's being restored. There's already a patch up. In the meantime there are workarounds, such as category search in the results and the preference setting. These are not suggested as solutions, the solution is coming in the form of restoring the old behavior.
Dec 10 2019
I think this might make sense, I have no strong opinions.
I think we'll need someone with better analytics skills than I have to help look at this, but I've been going over the data in the task link above. As stated there, only about 10 wikis are using most of the graphoid service. The largest that will be impacted, enwiki, is interesting. During the two-week measured frame it got the most hits for graphoid at over 21k requests. However, as @dr0ptp4kt found in T211881#5065149...

Opt-out should be fine; autocomplete is an expected standard in search behavior these days on-wiki.

@dr0ptp4kt thanks for the mention, sorry for the delay. I'm at WikidataCon this weekend, I'll get back to you about filing the support request early next week.

As discussed with halfak on IRC, we're not aware of much inter-editor communication or coordination around counter-vandalism work at jawiki.

This page isn't very active. I think we need to ask some others to look at the post, or put a notice about the post up somewhere more effective. I'll look into it.
