Hey @Effeietsanders - it’s an interesting question. From my side, I’m not aware of any formal recommendation or standard citation guidance for ORES. One possibly relevant reference that came to mind is the Research FAQ, which generally encourages acknowledging the Wikimedia Foundation, affiliates, or community members when they’ve supported your research. It’s not ORES-specific, but suppose to serve as a general guideline.
Illias who would likely have the best context here, is currently on leave for several more weeks. Hopefully he can weigh in when he’s back on a specific paper for ORES.
Appreciate you flagging this- it's useful to keep this in mind.

I opened a dedicated Google Drive for the track's organization that can be found at: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1RyOouum-3jjdtv-uqISzE0RG9Sid6_5x.
The folder includes a clearer timeline and updated roles and responsibilities for the track.

I started putting together a proposal at https://docs.google.com/document/d/1zhLbTsd8t-ndxkrQMO_NvqA5kKeh_7wtsw.
However, given that this is not urgent for the upcoming quarter and that we have other more urgent priorities, I will move this to the Staged column and likely pick it back up in FY26 Q1.

I've updated the description of this task to align with the continued work planned for Q4. I am moving this to the next quarterly lane.

I’ve added questions and answers based on our open call last week. I’m resolving this task since we found a simple solution for the need raised and have already started implementing it.

weekly update:
met with Comms this week. Based on that meeting, I suggest we take the following actions:
- Reduce reliance on Twitter/X by removing it from our website/mediawiki pages/etc.
- Leverage Bluesky, which has an engaged and vocal community.
- Consider opening an account managed by our team.
- Clarify ownership of social media channels and define a maintenance strategy.
- Explore alternative outreach methods, such as press opportunities, when relevant.
- Follow best practices outlined in Wikimedia Research documentation.
- Consider WMF social media for broader announcements instead of duplicating efforts.
weekly update:
- I'm awaiting a final confirmation from Springer regarding sharing a booth with them for CHI.
weekly update:
- February showcase completed.
- Logistics email to March speakers sent out.
- April showcase speakers confirmed.
- We have a coordination meeting on March 5, June speakers should be determined then
