I don't know if it worked before on avk.wikipedia.org, only that it worked on Incubator, where the page was imported from (it wasn't edited so far on avkwiki either): https://incubator.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wp/avk/Rustoda&oldid=4831033
Aug 14 2020
Well, no. The wiki is going to be created based on the Incubator activity, and with the Incubator pages. We are not creating this as a fork from some random dump. Afterwards, other pages can be imported.

Mail from @Ladsgroup to list admins:
Mailman allows us to upgrade mailing list by mailing list, that's good but we haven't found a way to keep the old version and the new ones in sync (archives, etc.). Maybe we migrate a mailing list and the archives for the old version will stop getting updated. Would that work for you? Feel free to chime in: https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T256539

A new case just happened on lij.wikisource at https://lij.wikisource.org/w/index.php?title=Laude_zeneize/19&action=history - Special:Import showed the error, but the page was still imported (though without a log entry).
Jul 20 2020
this just happened on lij.wikisource, trying to import https://wikisource.org/wiki/Index:Bacigal%C3%B4.Prose.rim%C3%A6.1891.pdf (by file). If that helps with anything?
You can contact these communities, for the time being, at the [[meta:Requests for new languages]] subpages, as they used them in the past days to discuss some last config details for their wikis.

@Urbanecm the names of the requested additional namespaces are now final, please go ahead.

Jul 14 2020
The doubts were resolved, the creation can continue (with lij as the interface language).

Thanks @Urbanecm. I invite everyone to continue the discussion at https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Requests_for_new_languages/Wikisource_Ligurian

Newer log entries are correct again. Seems like all the fixing happened in the duplicate at T255330.

What is delaying the creation of this wiki?

Ok, I have now done so.
I imported: main space, talk, templates, categories and modules. I skipped modules and templates which existed on scowiki already. I removed prefixes everywhere, except from the categories, which is probably best sorted out locally.
Apr 16 2020
What's the status of this? Can it be done?
Started with the talk pages (all 3 of them; they were all starting with a lowercase letter originally). Is it intentional that the Define namespace is not case-sensitive? If not, this should be fixed before I import the Wt/sco mainspace pages and they all would have to be fixed afterwards.

The community also requested "Give Flow board creation rights automatically to admins on the Konkani Wiktionary (Add flow-create-board for gomwikt sysop)" for the settings. I don't know to whom this right is usually assigned (on mw.org to all users, it seems), so I don't know if that is a restriction and how feasible that is given the scarcity of sysops on new wikis ( @Aklapper cf. our recent discussion).

Can someone give this some attention? Can there be a workaround as I suggested at T126827#3450937 2 years ago?
This error persists. Current example: https://incubator.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wp/nqo/%DF%93%DF%8F%DF%AC%DF%9F%DF%8F%DF%B2%DF%AC%DF%98%DF%8A&action=edit.
We are waiting for T233365 to be resolved.

Hmm. Is not an edit filter a better temporary solution?

I am aware of this. that's what we have the newprojects mailing list for.
Aug 23 2019
It is not.
Jul 17 2019
Tried it several times now today.

Hello. Indeed the tool died when Labs made some annoying switch of the server or whatever. I asked SPQRobin to resurrect the tool, but he doesn't have the time. Myself I have no idea how to do this. I'd be glad to add someone knowledgable as a maintainer, if I can do that.

Another issue: I didn't receive a mail from the newprojects list yesterday, so today I resubscribed, thinking that maybe I had somehow been unsubscribed. I then received a notification that I was already subscribed, and immediately the mail from yesterday arrived. Related?
Sep 17 2018
That's a good idea as well.
Maybe also a display in 2 columns, old rights on the left, new ones on the right, would be good.

I don't understand how this is related. The request is to enable experienced users to turn this off, not to remove it from new users.

The requirement from Langcom currently is to translate the most-used messages set (for the first project in a language).

This should be in Wiki-Setup (Create), however that works.

I deliberately omitted those as they won't conflict with the import.

Thanks for this reply. I think that settles it.
Jul 19 2017
On 5 July.
Does "I would rather get mediawiki handle its deleting and all the related checks to be honest." mean you would like to have a function in MediaWiki that can delete the wiki's database? Or just that the pages in the wiki should be deleted using the normal MediaWiki interface?
How can we solve this? As it works for non-Wikipedias, can't we create an exception for Wikipedias that will fix the link for them?
Jul 18 2017
So is creation the redirection without deleting the databases a reasonable way forward?
