Meghasharma16 added a comment to T331207: Compose a short survey for Content Translation users.

general Feedback:

  • Age: Please use brackets that go up to 70 or 80, not just "50 or older" (I used only the few first brackets in my example, simply because I did not want to write a very long list)
  • Name: I am curious: Why do so many surveys ask for a name? What do you want to do with it in your analysis?
  • Type of content to translate: Quite some surveys ask for "What type of online content do you translate?". The tool we analyse in this task is primarily used to tranlsate Wikipedia articles. You can ask what content people usually translate if you have a particular interest in that, but the tool in question does not aim to be used e.g. to translate social media posts.

If you just get started or review your survey draft, please also consider the newly added links in the task description:

Meghasharma16 added a comment to T331204: Produce flow diagrams illustrating translation imbalances.

Hello @awight! I was working on this micro task and was studying about chord diagrams and scatterplots in R since I am new to this. I was able to create one for my demo and understanding purposes. While I was looking at the JSON data and since the sankey diagram available to us isn't interactive, I was wondering what shall be the value to plot the arc between the source and target. I'm a bit lost here.
As my next step I would be making one wherein English is excluded and to see the relationships between the remaining.
Thanks in advance!

in addition to the tasks mentioned above can we pickup more tasks mentioned in the github repository: https://github.com/WikiEducationFoundation/WikiEduDashboard/issues or we need to work only on these tasks for now?

Hi @Meghasharma16, the WikiEduDashboard issues listed there are more relevant to Wikimedia's other proposed Outreachy project, T328389: Write a Ruby gem for analyzing Wikidata edits. Please ask there or chat with Sage Ross directly in Zulip for more information.

@Meghasharma16 I think you can also decide to work on the issues on the github too
Although the mentor's have not mentioned anything as regarding that

Hello everyone!
I'm Megha Sharma an outreachy applicant. I'm excited and looking forward to work with everyone and contribute in this project to make things easy for the public users out there.
I've joined the Zulip chat and have looked at the micro tasks mentioned above. I just had another doubt, in addition to the tasks mentioned above can we pickup more tasks mentioned in the github repository: https://github.com/WikiEducationFoundation/WikiEduDashboard/issues or we need to work only on these tasks for now?
Thank you!
