Ah, okay. Then what I think we're asking for is a public project for the blog-social-team, and then a private Space for that team. The tasks in that space should be associated with the public project, but only visible to the people listed above. Does that make sense?
Thanks @Erik_Zachte - please let us know when it's ready for a peek!
Sounds good. Ping when done @Deskana
I'm confused by the terminology, but think what we'd like is a new project, in addition to what already exists. The existing projects are not sufficient to track additional information, because this new "project" will be team-wide. I can't tell based on the documentation if what I'm asking for is a Space or a Project. What I'd like is a private workboard for the people mentioned above –

suggested edits in, I'm happy to talk through them — I think it needed a change in tone, and I'd like to add a bit about the upcoming paper you have coming out. LMK what you think.
I'm taking a look now - I think we can totally post on or close to that date, @Halfak

This is a great idea and can largely be based on the wikitech-l note (https://lists.wikimedia.org/pipermail/wikitech-l/2017-July/088466.html) with some more detail and storytelling.
Thanks @Erik_Zachte - please let me know when a blog post is ready to edit!

I think the task that I just merged is slightly different than this – I was thinking of something like Reddit's RemindMe bot, which allows people to say "RemindMe! [timeframe]" and receive a ping at the appropriate time.

No, that was unintentional. I will correct in the task but note that I accidentally used @EdErhart-WMF's personal account in the task description originally for archival purposes. Thanks for the keen eyes, @Aklapper

Sounds good @CKoerner_WMF - please ping one of us when you're ready for next steps! I see this as a delightful blog post where we could have a lot of fun....Suggested post title: GET OUT YOUR 3-D GLASSES.... 😸
Hi @Jdforrester-WMF I like the idea of doing this as a blog piece, which could then be posted on the other forums. As a way to help the audience parse this information, I recommend setting it up as follows:

Hi all! I'd love to chat with you about this epic task, as we're streamlining some of our comms stuff to make it easier to get news out. LMK if you want to set something up, or whether there's a particular aspect of this that we can help fix.
Hi all, I'm combing through the blog-content backlog and see that this thread was tagged. Is this something that you still plane to write about? Let me know! We're trying to groom our backlog a bit, and want to know if this is coming down the pipeline.
Hello! I saw that this was tagged wikimedia-blog-content and noticed that you're hoping to get this out by the end of the month. Is there anything we can do on the blog side to help facilitate this? Let us know!
Hello! I'm combing through the wikimedia-blog-content backlog and was wondering if this is a) something you're still planning to write and b) if there's any way I can help facilitate that process.
Hi all - I'm going through the blog-content backlog and wanted to check in on the status of this. Please let us know if there are ways we can help you get this out to your intended audience(s)!
Hi all! I'm going through the blog content backlog and wanted to check on the status of this: Is there anything we can do to help? Do you have an expected release date? We'd love to add this to our calendar.

If you're looking into other groups, I recommend the Foundations listserv, which is for collaborations and information sharing between free software projects: https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/foundations

Note for blog: All blog posts through here have been added to the master post.
I realize this is well-underway but I recently came across this public events calendar and really liked the format and the code is up on GitHub so I thought I would share as a stickie in case there are future revisions planned down the road.

I really like those dimensions and characteristics. I would add that for each one, it's helpful to think about "what is the smallest nugget of information that they need" to "perform X task." and how might that group best learn (Is it audio? Video? Text? A tutorial with detailed diagrams? A 1 on 1 session? A group session?)

@Rfarrand I am happy to take ownership of that task.

@Spinster I think the aim is to have everyone write and post to their own personal sites because everyone attending reaches a different audience, and then we'll come together post-hackathon/blogging to write something / summarize the event for the blog. I really like that angle you're thinking about — a colleague of mine at a past job wrote this up about a similar background and experience. I'm looking forward to seeing what you write.
