Hi @ashley, I’ve submitted a patch for this task:
https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/c/mediawiki/extensions/PrivateDomains/+/1262865
The change updates displayRestrictionError() to check whether the user is logged in. Logged-in users still see the Special:EmailUser link, while anonymous users are shown a non-email contact message instead.
I’ve also added you as a reviewer on Gerrit. Please take a look when you have time. Thanks!

Thanks for the clarification!
I’ll start working on this and update if I run into anything unclear.
Hi, I’d like to work on this task.
From the description, I understand that the message keys are dynamically constructed, so I plan to locate their usage in the code and add comments listing all possible securepoll-votereligibility-list-* message keys for better discoverability.
Please let me know if this approach looks good.
Thanks!
Hi, I’d like to work on this task.
From the discussion, I understand the fix involves checking whether the user is logged in inside displayRestrictionError() and showing a different message for anonymous users instead of linking to Special:EmailUser.
Please let me know if this approach looks good or if there are any additional considerations.
Thanks!
Hi @Gerges
I’ve reviewed the issue and the discussion so far. I’m interested in working on this as well, especially focusing on the mobile touch handling with CodeMirror.
Since others have started exploring the setup, I can help by investigating the frontend side (CodeMirror configuration / touch event handling) and propose a possible fix.
Please let me know if that works, or if you’d prefer I pick a different task to avoid duplication.
Thanks!

Hi, I’m a new contributor and I was going through this task and the related patch.
I understand that the $module parameter should always be an ApiBase object. I wanted to confirm if all hook documentation should consistently mention this, or if there are any exceptions where it might differ.
Hi, I’m a new contributor and I’d like to work on this task.
From the discussion, it seems the solution involves overriding the message in the WikimediaMessages extension. I’m planning to update the wording to something like “All Wikimedia wikis” or “All Wikimedia projects”.
Please let me know if there is a preferred phrasing or any guidelines I should follow.
Hi, I’m a new contributor and I’ve been looking into this task.
I noticed a patch has already been submitted. I’d like to help improve it—especially around accessibility (e.g., adding aria-disabled and handling keyboard navigation).
Please let me know if that would be useful, or if there are specific areas where contributions are needed.
Hi, thank you!
I have assigned the task to myself. I have also submitted a PR for this issue:

Hi, I'm Monica, a frontend developer interested in contributing to Wikimedia. I would like to work on this task as my first contribution. I am currently setting up MediaWiki with the Mobile Frontend extension and Minerva skin. I will update my progress soon. Please let me know if there are any guidelines I should follow.
