@Bawolff I double-checked and one letter "ү" isn't sorted, why?
Example: the word "сүр" at the end isn't sorted.
@Bawolff Yes, you're right. I try icu4c-demos (it's all sorted correctly) and I think we should use CLDR.

If we fix the fonts, can we use it since the only problems are with the additional Cyrillic glyphs?
Yes, we have asked and asked, but there is no answer.
@Aklapper @Jdlrobson-WMF maybe we're using different fonts?
If we add web fonts to the css files, will the problem be solved?
And if possible, what interface files should we edit?

@jhsoby are you here?
Jan 28 2025
@jhsoby Thanks. I took the reference from Bashkir language, and I think when Kazakh will be switched to Latin, I will specify the collation once again.
And I'd like to know approximately in how many days repositories will be updated, as admins are waiting for a new sorting.
And one more question if in Kazakh wiki projects among admins there are no programmers and IT specialists, is it possible to create one position for those who don't want to be admins, but want to solve problems with code?
Jan 27 2025
In the template documentation, I wanted to use <nowiki>{{kk sep j1}}</nowiki> to explain the example, but the tag doesn't work.
@jhsoby: Yes, you're right CLDR is rarely updated, let's add collation for now, since the admins of Kazakh Wikipedia from long time want to solve the problem by sorting the alphabet.
Jan 26 2025
@jhsoby can you add collation from CLDR (Kazakh)?

@Aklapper
Yes but the problem is that many font designers when adding Cyrillic limited only with Adobe Cyrillic 1, but for languages such as Kazakh, Tatar, Kyrgyz and other Cyrillic languages need Adobe Cyrillic 2.
So until companies add additional Cyrillic letters, the best option is to replace them with custom fonts.
@JScherer-WMF is it possible to use custom fonts for each operating system? Fonts in ttf or woff2 format

While the time in Almaty and Kostanai is still UTC+6, apparently not everything has been updated. @MoritzMuehlenhoff

@Winston_Sung you can open the article as incognito and see how unregistered users see the conversion. For example, in this article, the original name of the city New-York is converted to Cyrillic.
@Amire80 @Winston_Sung @Aklapper the problem is not solved. I guess you need to remove the converter completely.

@Amire80 And also the Arabic script of the Kazakh also has errors when converting the digit is translated into old Arabic numerals and the Kazakhs of China use modern Arabic numerals
@Amire80, as you wrote earlier, the converter has a number of problems

@Aklapper: If you are in doubt and do not want to delete locales, then you can ask the administrators of the Kazakh Wikipedia, etc.
I think that they also want to remove unused locales since no one is using them. Due to the use of two methods such as the Cyrl2Latn and Latn2Cyrl methods, in most cases the conversion results in incorrect.
For example, https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/15GWWHH5FkRBUFCA4ssiTQcV7jUhk5UJX?usp=sharing
look at two screenshots on one wikipedia user opened the article and the second unregistered user opened the same article. As you can see, we are in trouble with Latn2Cyrl.

@Aklapper: Is it possible to speed up the process?
I replied to @VulpesVulpes825 that we are not using options such as kk-cn, kk-tr, kk-kz and that there are many problems due to errors in the converter.

Hello @Aklapper, kk-wiktionary does not correctly display cases of the Kazakh language. For example, entering the word "екі" must be attached to case termination "нің" but instead displays "дің" this is a mistake.
Here is a link to the word "екі": https://kk.wiktionary.org/wiki/%D0%B5%D0%BA%D1%96

I don't know if TTF file format from 2004 is still technically sufficient though.

No idea - you need to find out the license of each of these fonts.
Here is a link to UKIJ fonts http://ukij.org/fonts/. LGPL and OFL licenses. The font Creator doesn't respond to emails. Can they be used?

Hello @Aklapper, can I see a list of all fonts that can be used in Wikipedia?
Look at this page of the Uyghur Wikipedia https://ug.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D8%A6%DB%87%D9%8A%D8%BA%DB%87%D8%B1_%D8%AA%D9%89%D9%84%D9%89
Can I use fonts like in Uyghur Wikipedia "ALKATIP", "UKIJ Tuz", "ALKATIP Tor", "UKIJ Tor", "UKIJ inchike", "Alpida_Unicode System", "UKIJ Tuz Tom" for kk-arab Wikipedia?

Hi @Aklapper, thanks for answering.
This problem was told to me by Kazakhs from China who live in Kazakhstan and they told me that the font used in kk-Arab Wikipedia does not match the style of the Kazakh language (Arabic script). And I studied this alphabet(script) and realized that it really does not fit and looks very ugly. The font was thrown to me by the Kazakhs of China, I don't know who the author is and I don't know if there is a license. The name of the archive "Qazaq Tote Jaziwi" means Arabic script of the Kazakh language. If these fonts do not fit you can use Uyghur fonts like on this page https://ug.wikipedia.org/wiki/ئۇيغۇر_تىلى
