3. ✔ The problem was that we requested TALKPAGENAME while on a Special page, which has no associated talk page. There was a workaround, but it broke the edit mode: after clicking "Edit" in VisualEditor, the page would still not get editable. See the console. Hence, reverted.

Alas, again and again, the mailbox gets unlinked (6 February, 11 February). Except this time, the user is able to successfully confirm it every time. So that's progress, but it's still a bug. The mailbox should just stay confirmed, always.

On January 17, the email got confirmed, and it has stayed confirmed. So let's hope this time the problem is resolved for good.

I'm not sure if it's been mentioned in detail, so here's what I've noticed. The bug is gone during editing via VisualEditor and appears after saving the edit.

Matsievsky says that this problem happens only with this type of Wikipedia e-mail. Other than that, other platforms and even Wikipedia itself sends normal e-mails, e.g. notifications about people replying on his discussion page.
