Having the choice is all that I ask.
This seems related to T250856 regarding issues with bots and minor edits.
Seriously? I can't even come up with a cogent reply. You're seriously suggesting that every person who has email enabled who might not want this change has to figure out how to set up a bot in toolforge to email them?

Good god. First we can't fix T250856, and now we're making the problem worse??? I might be in the minority of wanting to get every edit made to my watchlist to my inbox, but I feel like this goes over the top to fix what is not necessarily an issue.

Agreed; if a name is so bad it needs to be wiped entirely from the system, the WMF should be doing that themselves.

I will also note that the usual editnotice-related content does not appear on any page, i.e. when you edit a page there is no "Group notice" or "Page notice" redlink that appears as an option for making an editnotice.

I know this is unlikely to do anything other than annoy the folks watching, but on the off chance it motivates someone... any movement on this?

Thanks TNT, that should be it!

Genuinely curious the status of this - we're almost two years on from two "easy" fixes being proposed, and nothing doing.

Yes, apologies, I do realise that our private space would be in a public project; that was what I meant in my earlier reply, I just was mixing up the terminology.

Glad to hear it, thanks!

I like the bold. I have no opinion on the double-strike though I can see the potential benefits.
Apr 12 2021
They're already italic+strike through. However, if they used to be bold, why not bold them now?

Fair point, since clearly I would have noticed it after I merged if it were throwing errors.
Well... that's a good lesson learned. Should have just G6'd 'em.

I would argue there's a difference between seeing a ticket once and kicking it over to the oversight queue, and being able to access that ticket a year or two later. While helpful for an OSer, it gives unnecessary access to a non-OSer, who will likely forget the specifics of the ticket shortly after moving it (given that I as an OSer sometimes don't remember the exact name of a suppressed article until I see the ticket again.

Can confirm. I hate to admit that this happens more often than not when I protect a page; I just assumed it was something buggy with one of my scripts and/or extensions and just went with it.

From my reading of this thread, it sounds like Timeshifter wants Rollback either disabled entirely or turned into another just another "undo" function.

Is there any motion on this? It's a rather serious deal, especially given the fact that we've had a couple thousand drafts accepted in the last few months that have likely slipped through the cracks.
Mar 2 2018
Oh, well... carry on then.
So, "moving" it to the queue would still forward it to the proper location? How would we then track it if it's being forwarded to their private servers?
Also make it a lot harder for cross-wiki postings (i.e. something comes into info-en, now instead of just "move to info-cz" I have to actually forward the whole damn thing).

Nothing is "incorrect", I just don't particularly like the new interface. I know that's not a great reason for wanting things to stay the way they are, but the dropdown menus are massive (often going off the bottom of my screen) and I definitely preferred the smaller and more readable options of the previous version.
Yeah, that would be nice. Or even if we had mobile/desktop versions.

I'm not entirely sure. I asked Earwig about it (since he runs the bot) but he wasn't able to find anything obvious about why it would still be on the list. He's the one that suggested I open a phab ticket. I'll add him to this conversation, I guess.

This is not a Wikipedia issue. It is an issue with someone listing WP:BATHWATER as a shortcut to [[WP:Baby and bathwater]] when it really points to [[WP:Overzealous deletion]]. It should be noted that I have removed BATHWATER from the {{essay}} tag.
