In the general case, we can't apply the right settings until the user logs in because a private wiki may not give us the information until after user log in. However, we can set the correct default for wiktionary.

It's not about the quote character, it's about the ref name= containing pipes. It's common for the ref to contain a nested template with pipes in, we handle that. It's less common, but is valid for the ref name to contain pipes (has to be in quotes), need to handle that.

@DavidBrooks From my perspective, happy for there to be an official AWB release whenever you like / after every fix/change of significant use to a user, if you have the access to do the release and the time to do the admin/effort. We can make those releases optional so we don't force users to upgrade too often (if the new releases are frequent and contain changes that most users may not need straight away).

Issue has been fixed, please use AWB snapshot release if this affects you. Later full releases of AWB will include this fix.
