Yeah, the only solution is to edit apache config by adding php_admin_value open_basedir "/home/user:/bin/bash" what's not possible for shared hosting.

No, the problem is not in my custom function (djvuchange), but in bindings. I don't know what docs mean about, but if you watch source code, hook is run on done event.
