@taavi Thanks!
Found the SSH keys and created file.
@Aklapper Thanks! I'll try to work through this again. It's been several years and several computers ago.
Not sure what happened, but this was never completed. A professor in Brazil is starting a class where the students will post Brazilian Sign Language wikipedia articles on Incubator. The stretch purge is getting serious. This needs to be done.

I'm sorry I misunderstood. I thought you would try to find someone. I'd be happy to answer questions, but I no longer have time to participate in Wikimedia project.

That would be great. Both of these servers should be easy to port. The www directory needs to be copied over. For dependencies, it should need the GD graphics library and maybe sqlite. It's been a few year since I ported the servers.

It would be better if they weren't deleted, but it's not something I have time to upgrade. This will take down the sign language wikipedias on incubator. Sad but true.

Thanks for the help.
Sorry, don't know what SUL means. This is for wikitech and cloud services. I have email ca@wikimedia.org. Thanks for the help.

I just rebuilt these instances last month! Sigh... No worries, just let me know what new puppet modules I should use, and I'll recreate the instances again. For manual installation, I only have GD and SQLite.

Thanks for the heads up. The SignWriting project is active and the two websites I administer are needed. I checked and they are both currently functioning properly. Do I need to do anything for this?

This is done. The instances have been recreated with Debian stretch.

Thanks for the information. These servers are used for 3 sign language wikipedias on incubator. I will replace both servers with whatever is recommended. I hope I can keep the same URLs.

Thanks for the comments. I spent an hour or so working through the issue before giving up. I did not document my problems.
Thanks for the heads up. I tried to create a new server to replace the old, but the online documentation is out of date. Luckily, I still have access to the two-factor authentication, but I failed in my initial attempt. Later this year, I will attempt again.

@chasemp , We will not be migrating signwriting-ase-wiki. It is fine if it shuts down in March. The ASL Wikipedia is available on Incubator.

@cscott, unfortunately, I will not be able to attend. I created this activity as part of the scholarship application, but I was declined.

The transformation from ASCII to SVG can be done on the client-side or the server-side. Client-side is easier and smaller. Server-side doesn't require JavaScript, but requires a plugin with a security review. Either client-side or server-side, this approach isn't the perfect solution, but it is currently the only solution that actually works.

@Nikerabbit Can you list what other information you would like in a summary about this task? For the current status of the ASL Wikipedia, we are moving forward on Incubator with 58 articles and growing. For the current status of supporting vertical writing mode in MediaWiki, there is basic support available on Incubator and some discussion available in the linked resources.

Vertical writing support is only a proof of concept on Incubator. Thanks for the link to the mailing list discussion. I look forward to reading it.
