@GoranSMilovanovic Awesome, that we found a solution. Your question to the MySQL storage ist one, that I cannot answer. Honestly I don't even know where to adress it. But is the hadoop storage a workaround, that would work for at least this campaign?

Hey @GoranSMilovanovic
can you please support us here again. We are lost :(
It could be, that we have an error-prone test setup: Maybe the browser tracks a different tag, than we are klicking. Honestly, we don't know. I'll check up with a techy in the software team upstairs.
@Addshore Hi Adam, we currently try to test a tracking setup for a mailing campaign. We use the extensions in the task description. And right now some of the test are just not working. Now I wonder if something in the tags or the hack you made maybe got wrong? Could you assist here? The campaign starts on Monday and we need feedback asap. Sry for the quick Task here... I hope you can halp!
Sep 23 2019
@GoranSMilovanovic I tested It from my side to just have another approach. Could you look it up? I created them just a few minutes ago.
THX!

Thank you for your reply - I‘ll check it out :)

@GoranSMilovanovic Thank You! that was fast. To be clear here: So 387 people in total took the trainings, the ones tracked and registered included?
Feb 13 2019
@GoranSMilovanovic Hi Goran, I have a question regarding the data of the training modules: Do you see in the tables from Ragesoss how many people did or begin the modules in general - regardless of the fact they register or not. Question behind the question: I would like to know how many people potentially just did the module, but didn't register beforhand.
Jan 23 2019
@Ragesoss @GoranSMilovanovic Cool! Thanks for your feedback. Then we will keep it this way for now and I will close the ticket. Thx for providing the data again.
Jan 22 2019
@Ragesoss Thank You for explaining in detail how we can get the data and also thank you for providing it so rapidly!

@Cirdan I recently got the following feedback from a cloud services admin:
Dec 4 2018
@GoranSMilovanovic I've had a look on it. Looks great and this is really good for us: having all information available at any time :)
@GoranSMilovanovic Thx for providing the dashboard. I will reply as soon I checked it.
Nov 30 2018
@kai.nissen Hi Kai, am I right, that you are involved in creating the thank you campaign banners? If so, please take this tracking information into account for the links to your landing page. I appreciate a feedback, if I am right.
Nov 29 2018
@GoranSMilovanovic Thx for the feedback :)
Nov 7 2018
@Cirdan Thank you for your quick reply. I will check with the Cloud Services team on the topics above: Could you help me with a contact? How do I contact them best to get the questions answered?

Now I'm done with copying and reviewing the data and I miss more data. I fear, that I didn't notice that before and would be very glad to get more data from you. It regards the mobile data and thus separate URLs, that we would need to track. The mobile people had a user journey that remained mobile. I marked the missing URLs (orange) in our sheet. Could you provide the page views for that pages please?
@GoranSMilovanovic Hi Goran, I'm writing down the data in a table right now and I notice, that I miss a distinction between two landingpages:
Nov 1 2018
@GoranSMilovanovic Thank You!
Oct 31 2018
@GoranSMilovanovic In general we perceived the event as really successfull :)
@GoranSMilovanovic Hi Goran, thank you for the Report. We have only a few registrations we know of and which were tracked on the local pages. But very many people attendet the local events and commited to come to other events too. But this is unfortunately not really trackable.
Oct 29 2018
@GoranSMilovanovic Hi Goran, as stated in the doc we would need a monthly report for some metrics. In this respect this is a ongoing task that requires a monthly update. Maybe we can check, how we will proceed here, when you are personally here and then decide what to do with this task.
It ended yesterday on Sunday 28.10.
Oct 24 2018
@GoranSMilovanovic Awesome! Thx!
@GoranSMilovanovic Yes :) Thx for reminding me.
@GoranSMilovanovic This seems totally normal to me as we sent the newsletter on 11.10.2018. To see the registrations you would need to track the newsletter-data from the 11.10.2018. Is it possible to have the newsletter data seperately in the spreadsheet stating data from the 11.10.2018?
Oct 23 2018
I've had now a Meeting with SWE and we figured out some ways to track the things we want to know about the users. The most questions are directed to you. Mostly according the Logs that are already running on the web-server (or not).
Oct 22 2018
@GoranSMilovanovic Thx!
Thx for the report. It looks good. And thx for mentioning the tracking issue with the local events. Yes - we hope, that we can measure the conversion on the local event and we can at least see how the conversion from page-views to attendance and registration on the event are.
By the way: Do you have the latest data on the campaign?
is it possible to fix that?
Oct 19 2018
@GoranSMilovanovic I filled out the spreadsheet and commented on your questions there.
@Tim_WMDE Big Thanks from my side, too !
Oct 18 2018
@GoranSMilovanovic I added one user journey, because we will also have people that will see a mobile version of the banner. To see how many of them also land on the local event page I introduced a new campaign tag in the task description of T206757. Please have this in mind too.
Hi @Tim_WMDE aaaaand last little thing from my side: We would like to track the mobile people explicitly. If I got you right there will be two links for the banner. It would be good to have the another additional campaign tag for the mobile link.
Oct 16 2018
Hi @Tim_WMDE. Big thx for implementing the banners as discussed. Now it looks very good on the mobile version. I would prefer your idea yesterday: only to have the second link (https://de.m.wikipedia.org/?banner=B18WMDE_neweditors_autumn_2018_lp1) designed with the slight grey background. The non-mobile link looks quite good also on the smartphone and is not that small so the text don't overlap on the display. Is that possible?
Oct 15 2018
There will be also mobile banners and therefore please note, that there will be two links for the banners:
Oct 12 2018
@Tim_WMDE Big Thanks for implementing the changes immediately!
- I will send you the overlap-data as soon as I tested every option and system I can access
- The button now looks great with the shadow and without the overlap
- Regarding the mobile version and the X-Button I will consult UX on Monday and get back to you. If there is no good solution for the mobile version I will check witch my team, if we will follow through on mobile or cancell that option. In the future we will explicitly write if mobile is in scope or not.
Oct 11 2018
To the banner (T205720#4654522) I would correct the following points:
- the text overlaps with the image when it's getting smaller. would it be possible to switch to the smaller banner a bit earlyer, so that it does not overlap?
- The button looks quite big/long. Would it be possible to have the button as long as the text in the button? Maybe the overlap issue then changes too, because it only overlaps with the button
- The button is not so present as a button. Would it be possible to add some shadow there?
- In the smallest banner version in mobile view the button is not fully seen. Could you correct that?
Hi guys,
just to have it clear I communicate the tracking information (see T206757) and the landingpage link for the banner again: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Wikipedia_vor_Ort_2018?campaign=WMDE_neweditors_autumn_2018_lp1
@GoranSMilovanovic Thank you Goran - that looks good!
Oct 10 2018
@GoranSMilovanovic Thx! Awesome, that it works :)
@GoranSMilovanovic Thx for testing! Good, that it's working. Kai also created one account with lpnTag and one account with lp1Tag during our meeting. Can find them too?
Oct 4 2018
@GoranSMilovanovic What I see from my perspective (but I'm not so much technically competent)
- I do not see any referrer, that shows from which banner the people on the registration page came from. Just the LerneWikipedia-page. Do you see something different in the registration data?
- I do see, that the people on the different local pages came from banner or newsletter, because the campaign tag is given in the referrer.
- Same for LerneWikipedia page: the referrer shows from where they came from.
@GoranSMilovanovic Thanks for checking. I'm not quite sure, I can understand the table properly and ask for your help again: I would need an explicit answer to the orange questions in the Doc to each User Journey. For now I cannot answer that questions with your table.
@Tim_WMDE I will make sure, that you get the list!
Sep 27 2018
@GoranSMilovanovic OK Thanks!
@GoranSMilovanovic Thanks for the double check and what a pity that the data is not that good.
Sep 26 2018
@GoranSMilovanovic Thank you!
@GoranSMilovanovic Thank you for the data! Is it right, that there are 118 Users in the spring campaign 2018 that reached 50 or more edits? That is unbelievably high :) And thus awesome if this is really true. It's just hard to believe that :)
Sep 18 2018
I'm on it now :)
Sep 17 2018
@GoranSMilovanovic I just went through the document. It really made the process a lot clearer. I commented everything and hope to clarify last questions there.
Sep 12 2018
@GoranSMilovanovic Sry Goran, I'm quite full right now. You'll get feedback tomorrow!
Sep 3 2018
Aug 23 2018
@GoranSMilovanovic Thank you for keeping up. Quite unfortunate that the numbers didn't change.. I'll get back to you in the upcoming days regarding the other numbers. I'm quite full right now.
Aug 17 2018
@GoranSMilovanovic Oh, that's a bummer. Then let's see in one week, if there are more edits. Thanks for checking the whole procedure again!
Aug 15 2018
Hi Goran, great! Then we will du it that way. Could you update the closing
rates in that table please?
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1E36H-QCS7VD8H5SId5wcS4xp_yGhVnIUoQ1UxGEwux4
From my perspective I have the following datapoint, that would be interesting:
- URL they came from (in case we do another campaign and want to know from which source they came)
- Which task did they did? Here it would be great to have a table or at least the possibility to organize the data in such way to really for example which tasks are most valued
- For all the data we gather a timestamp is really good to have
- how long do they stay on the page?
@sonkiki I'm only creative at times regarding those names. I'll keep that in mind and will get back as sonn I have a creative burst on that :)
@GoranSMilovanovic Thank you for the updated report! I checked the training module data and unfortunately not many people used the training modules, so guess this is not really enough data to make some guesses about the modules and the answers to our initial questions.
Aug 10 2018
@Ragesoss Hi Sage, as usual I have another request for the data in the training modules we created. We used them again in another campaign and want to have a look on the data. These are the module ids for the request: module_ids = [40002, 40004] (editieren-basiswissen, diskutieren-basiswissen). Could you please send the data to @GoranSMilovanovic (Mail) and myself? Thanks in advance
@GoranSMilovanovic Thank you for the report.
Hi guys, we have only the data from our spring campaign in which we promoted the training modules. We had around 400 clicks to the training modules in the whole 9 days the campaign run. So my answer is really only based on that scenario of the campaign using the same user journey.
But in the new „Wikipedia-Tag“-Campaign we want to run in autumn we could have more clicks at the same time.
Aug 9 2018
@GoranSMilovanovic I confirm, that the campaign has ended yesterday at 12:30 UTC. We would be more than glad to see the complete data and see what we have reached with our campaign.
Aug 7 2018
@Tim_WMDE Big Thanks to you for following up that issue. Indeed, it is too much effort and quite error-prone. Also, because we have discussions on that first landing page and potential changes from the community, that we could not perfectly match to the other pages. Now we know a solution and we will use the data we have so far. Thanks again!
Aug 6 2018
@GoranSMilovanovic @Tim_WMDE Thank you guys for prompt solution here. Now everything looks perfect!
@GoranSMilovanovic Hi Goran, I don't know if this parameter was the same in every campaign and I don't know where to find this information. @Tim_WMDE Do you have an idea about that parameters and can help here?
Aug 3 2018
Thx! I’ll keep that in mind.
@GoranSMilovanovic I now (15:10 CEST) corrected the Links in the buttons on the first landing page and added another extension: ?campaign=WMDE_neweditors_summer2018_LP2 Let's at least track how many people came from the first landingpage.
@GoranSMilovanovic I have another question to the data-table: Are you sure, that we have only around 8.000 impressions per day? Usually it is around 1.800.000 impressions per day, when we go with 80% banner diet. Could you check that? I want to be sure, if the banner setup is right.
@GoranSMilovanovic OK. That's a severe problem. I thought, that the extension in the banner is stored in a coockie and is still there when they get to the next landingpage? Now I'm wondering witch extension I can add to the buttons in the first landingpage to ensure, that we can still track them regarding the banner they initially clicked...
@GoranSMilovanovic Many Thanks for correcting the code!
@GoranSMilovanovic: Regarding the document and the first data I have a quite urgent question. Do we need another extension/link to the buttons of the first landingpage to track how much users were on the second landingpage? I cannot decifer the data in the doc to get that number. Can you help me here?
