Going to push back on StefenTower's argument here – I, too, found this change extremely annoying, but like Vanamonde I simply immediately reversed it using custom CSS and moved on with my life, assuming that such WMF interventions are non-negotiable. Now that I see this ticket, I am pleasantly surprised at the openness to limiting this change to screen sizes where it is necessary, which does not include the vast majority of users of the desktop view. That is absolutely the solution here. I also think the three dots icon is terrible at telling the user what's behind it. Maybe, in the spirit of a "Tools" menu, we could change it to a wrench icon? Or maybe, if the problem with "Tools" is that it does not only contain tools, we should reconsider dumping all of these unrelated features into a single dropdown menu...

It's up to communities to decide what they want to do. Some searching reveals that the Turkish Wikipedia has a non-admin Oversighter. [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:CentralAuth?target=Taysin] It's harder to find out if any wikis have non-admin crats. Either way, none of this can be prohibited on Phabricator; the appropriate venue would be a Meta RfC.

Yes, that's correct. As far as I saw, only OS and CU have that right. I'm not suggesting we add checkuser-temporary-account-no-preference anywhere, though – I'm saying we should add IPinfo to groups that currently have checkuser-temporary-account-no-preference.
Is this still being worked on? Seems ruwiki has TAs now. Would be a sensible change, the current structure makes Special:ListGroupRights needlessly cluttered.

Hello folks, Echo Chamber is currently broken. I don't know if the plan to delete notifications older than 5 years has already been enacted, but if so, I'll be the "one user on any wiki" mentioned above. I first saw the Tech News announcement on 1 April tried to use Echo Chamber then, got errors, and only got around to filing T422318 today. If the deletion hasn't happened yet, could it please be postponed at least until Echo Chamber is up and running for a week or so?

Thanks for filing this, Peter! re: open question #1, maybe we can create a form that asks the editor to answer a series of questions rather than picking a class directly. For example, ask the editor to assess against each of the five B-class criteria ([[w:en:WP:BCLASS]]).

Hello, I would like to report some further issues/testcases. I added this class on [[Template:Journalism_sidebar]] and [[Template:Politics_of_Northern_Ireland]]. Both cases do not work yet (Examples: Investigative journalism and Courts of Northern Ireland). Izno suggested that this may be an issue with a cache and that I should wait longer, which may be the case. The journalism template was edited today (March 22), while the politics template was edited on March 8.
