Another problem I have is signing in at the library. After I enter my email address and password, it won't let me go to the next step. If I try, it says it couldn't verify my browser. If I sign in again, it works.

This is weird. I was looking through a newspaper, I made a clipping, and then made sure I could access it before putting it in Wikipedia as a source. Then I kept turning pages as I continued reading, and at some point it wanted me to subscribe. I don't know how I got out of the situation but I can see the pages normally again.

Until yesterday I could get to individual pages. Today, even if I sign in to newspapers.com, I cannot.

What is renewal of existing access grant? Have I done something wrong if it says no?

Earlier this week I had trouble signing in to post when I was at a library, but I saved a URL in the form https://www-newspapers-com.wikipedialibrary.idm.oclc.org/image/1110761182 because I wanted to print a photo and couldn't make a clipping. It told me to subscribe. I was able to print the photo when I changed to https://www-newspapers-com.wikipedialibrary.idm.oclc.org/browse/united-states/north-carolina/asheville/asheville-citizen-times_4039/2024/08/20/

I'm not deleting any cookies. That causes too many problems.

And I still can't create clippings. I want to print but when I'm at home I don't have a printer. Printing what I want wouldn't be that simple anyway even if I signed in the way I've been signing in.

I have tried several times in the past to get newspapers.com to solve the problem when I didn't know how to get my subscription renewed. The person who responded in each case didn't know what was going on and couldn't give real advice. It didn't help that my subscription used a different email from my Wikipedia email because my Wikipedia email didn't work for whatever reason and I had to use a different email for Wikipedia.

I don't know how to say this is happening to me too so I'll just repeat what was said.

Is this a problem that needs fixing? 20 May 2023, B1 - Asheville Citizen-Times at Newspapers.com (oclc.org) I added a clipping when I saw an article I could use as a source. This was my first success accessing a newspaper by the new method.

Okay, it took a couple of tries but this time it got me to where I click on "main edition" which is strange because the URL already had Main Edition so I wouldn't have to do that.

I eventually tried that and I found I could get to my clippings, and I could access any page in the same newspaper. However, I have always been able to access the newspaper by URL (simply going to the newspaper, I can't figure out how to read a newspaper for a particular day any other way) and when I do that, I am told to pay. I read that I should have been adding clippings when I used newspapers.com as a source for an article so just now, when I tried, I was blocked if I didn't pay, even before I clicked on "clip".

I can't access newspapers.com. I am signed in but if I try to access any pages I am told how to pay.

Understood. I wondered if it would even be worth it. I have sent a message to the person who brought the issue up on the Help Desk.

How do you tell an IP to comment here? That is the advice given on the Help Desk.
