If we provide detailed fallback font settings in the MediaWiki:Common.css file, similar to those in the Hindi Wikipedia, will that resolve the issue?

The problem is completely solved in alpha builds but still it occurs with single letters in stable release 2.7.50498-r-2024-08-19
