-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA512 I am a system administrator and QA engineer, specialising in FOSS operating systems. I am distinctly interested in graphical interface consistency and accessibility. Although I am under NDA for my employment, I have successfully remediated errata with the development teams for Microsoft's Partner Centre and Windows, Google's AOSP, and KDE e.V. Additionally, I possess edit access on the Chromium Issue Tracker, and have submitted patches to Firefox. I have even recently resolved an XSS vulnerability in upstream GitLab Server. As of 2026-04, I had opened 2 461 issues on the official GitHub instance, with an ⪆ 80 % non-rejection rate. Similarly, I had opened 394 at KDE e.V's Bugzilla instance, 226 at The Mozilla Foundation's, 324 at Red Hat Incorporated's, and had one accepted at the Linux kernel's. During my work, I have become an ardent EU and UN federalist. Consequently, I support Europol, NATO, the ICC, and ICJ. This is because of what I have experienced in my many roles. For Neighbourhood Watch Network, I am a Membership Support Administrator, and a member of its Youth Council and Cyberhood Watch. For NWN's Norfolk Association, I am its (Co-Opted) Digital Communications Lead, and a scheme co-ordinator. For the Crimestoppers Trust, I am a volunteer. For Fairphone B.v, I am an Angel. Additionally, I am a co-opted member of the Hanworth Commons Management Committee and Hanworth With Gunton Memorial Hall Committee. I intend to become an Emergency Responder for Saint John Ambulance, and a member of the Hanworth Parish Council. Some time later, I intend to become a Special Constable, too. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- iHUEARYKAB0WIQTACnqipLcrwkiYEfPr9NsMQDxLLgUCaeT2kgAKCRDr9NsMQDxL LkcpAP4hcD8eWko2LBvUAMSAD/9uq3C82lShXSelDUXP5B6d1wD+MgjznwlmEvQD 5YD3VSdgXyp60dxPCFqb3U3n7Fdf9QA= =xrDu -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----

Thanks. Didn't mean to have that added; I imagine a bot did so.

It looks like this is worse than I thought. Firefox on Linux will say that it doesn't support passkeys, even when certain third-party password managers are installed that do support them. If 1Password is installed, Firefox does correctly say that it supports passkeys, but if Bitwarden or KeePassXC are installed, Firefox incorrectly says it doesn't support them.

@Aklapper, device loss or failure. PCI DSS V4.0 and NIST guidance recommend them for a well-documented reasons.
I don't see much point in this. Can't the user merely synchronise their TOTP key in a credential manager, like Bitwarden (and countless others) provide?

@LikeLifer, that's off-topic for this ticket. If you experience a bug with Vector, file a separate issue about that.

@John_Cummings, yeah, https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T96110#4872946 explains that all data associated with the previous username should be transferred to the new username. Is this correct, @Aklapper?
