After thinking about: We have Commons. Isn't it a gigantic database too? Can we save etherpads in a kind of Commons database structure?

- Log the loop boldly to test area.
- Break the loop.
- Continue autoarchiving.

AdT-Verwaltung is tracked via bot check; error correction now per bot automatically.
Yes, I plan to solve the task, but it's lowest priority.
This becomes a part of MerlBot and should be merged to it. Concepted within architecture. Solving this task is actually ongoing but uses much time.
recoding actually ongoing
recoding autoarchiv routine ongoing

While revision deleted oversights keep visible for a time I guess that this is an security issue for WMF Trust and Safety Production Team.

But we're talking about a general visual change, not about a bug or a part of project development.
Have we got a global survey that these spaces are wanted in every wiki? In every language? In French they often use the colon with space before AND behind
Jan 18 2026
We didn't do it wrong, because it's not a grammar case. We're talking about lemmas, short topic terms, not about sentences or parts of them which should be grammatically correct. We're talking about page titles as database values with prepended namespace titles, both parted by a colon.
Jan 16 2026
I also agree to @Novem_Linguae and @Gonnym repeating their arguments. With these we should revert the space display.

Change done.

I answered "regardless of which API _action_" when I was asked about an example action. Maybe a misunderstanding, sorry about it. Next time I will be aware of the API differences from the start.
I don't use Wikimedia REST API yet, so I can neither confirm nor deny it.
I am attempting to log timestamps along with URL.

@taavi
I know that there is not the single "the API". And that's a highly variable thing. I
As I stated in my original report, this occurs regardless of which API action is being performed and independent of the time of day. The issue is highly variable. That's precisely why I recommended implementing server-side logging of these errors to enable further investigation and troubleshooting.

Eine generelle Überarbeitung der Autoarchivierungsroutine ist in Planung. Zeitpunkt der Fertigstellung kann vorerst nicht abgeschätzt werden.
https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/c/mediawiki/extensions/Cite/+/560850/3/src/Cite.php#496 Line 496 is now:
$responsive !== null ? $responsive !== '0' : $wgCiteResponsiveReferences,
I am not very sure, but it looks like a problem with this commit, doesn't it? https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/c/mediawiki/extensions/Cite/+/560850
@thiemowmde: With this I add you as subscriber because of this: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Technik/Werkstatt#VE_tut_ungefragt_Dinge_%282%29

@STei-WMF : Tech News wording suggested: "A regression bug in Parsoid caused VisualEditor to make unintended changes to wikitext, including removing whitespace and replacing spaces with underscores in wikilinks inside citations. The bug was introduced on November 28 and affected multiple wikis. A fix was deployed to all Wikimedia wikis on December 2, 2025. Editors who used VisualEditor between these dates should review their recent edits for unexpected modifications."
@Johannnes89 : I think it's worth a Tech News because many contributors using Visual Editor have run into this error, and it was not only dewiki. But I am not that professional in technical things to create a proper wording.
Nov 28 2025
one further wikilink underscore example: https://de.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?diff=261941024
a further unexpected automatic change has happened here: after saving there have been underscores now in one of the wikilinks in the wikitext: [[Bundeszentrale für Politische Bildung]] → [[Bundeszentrale_für_Politische_Bildung]]

The error code page would be here: https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/plugins/gitiles/operations/mediawiki-config/+/47f8833fff721076ce4253dc96e239735f76147e/errorpages/404.php

@taavi: Okay, I guess you mean MediaWiki-Search as API component.
@Pppery : You removed MediaWiki-Action-API, but I guess API action=query&list=search is a MediaWiki API action. This is mentioned in the task description too.
Nov 20 2025
Is it only that query, or is it also performing generally worse?
@EBernhardson This seems to throw timeout reports, see this dewiki discussion: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Fragen_zur_Wikipedia#Zeit%C3%BCberschreitung_bei_Insource-Suche

@dcausse : it looks like it's something with these merges: https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/q/project:mediawiki/extensions/CirrusSearch
Let me know how to point out something important to someone or someone's board other ways than priorities ... I don't know about or am missing it on Phabricator
Nov 15 2025
Sometimes it's an 503 error instead of 504 error.
Nov 14 2025
@HMonroy: But I guess there is one mistake with HTML entities?

The Cloud-Services project tag is not intended to have any tasks. Please check the list on https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/project/profile/832/ and replace it with a more specific project tag to this task. Thanks!
Let me try to introduce @MusikAnimal to this task please, he had it on a project wishlist. Can you help with this please?
@Amire80 said it should be a gadget. Here another discussion: https://translatewiki.net/wiki/Support#Pending_translations_of_Who_Wrote_That
Nov 3 2025
Does anyone find out who coded the Gadget Who Wrote That and maintains it?
Yes, it would be a very great advantage for Wikipedia-related matters to gain access to the other ProQuest databases as well.
Oct 26 2025
@Lucas_Werkmeister_WMDE Dou you have some contact to someone from earlier time, when you did the translations, to proceed the pending updating?

With this there is another bug T101841 doing very similar things for 10 years now. It should be escalating too since it's causing data loss on articles.

Aug 26 2025
Possibly this is because the WMF User Agent Policy is now being enforced
Has with this something been changed to API or Mediawiki database? Since August 18th some of my bots are working not properly any more using rc_timestamp than before.
Aug 12 2025
@bd808 : I tried the first verification method and got the verification file output:
tools-bastion-12.tools.eqiad1.wikimedia.cloud:/home/taxonbot/2fa-reset-request.txt
I'm not sure but I think I didn't lose the ssh key, I only lost my password. So I should try the first confirming method. But it's explained in a too difficult English language for me, it's too hard to understand it clearly.
@bd808 : Let's try the second confirming method. These stewards know me in real life and can verify my account: @Johannnes89 and @DerHexer
Aug 11 2025
@bd808 : The new email address is dr.taxon[at]gmail.com
Jul 11 2025
It should be checked what the reason of the failure has been.
But https://en.wikipedia.beta.wmcloud.org/wiki/Special:Blankpage actually gives:
504 Gateway Time-out
The server didn't respond in time.
Jul 10 2025
First sample checks are working perfectly for me now ... Thanks a lot!

@jsn.sherman QuickSurvey box is in the middle of namespace 0 page content text body. The best is to put it in the banner on top of the article into the banner body or below the article text body. See screenshot
Jun 16 2025
@Aklapper They are not random but the survey deployers.
QuickSurveys appear in the middle of namespace 0 article text body.
@Aklapper Yes, I missed that bug report form. So I thought, that sub bug tasks don't generate the bug report form. I'm very sure that I didn't delete the report form.
@jsn.sherman Please prevent inserting QuickSurveys into the namespace 0 article text body.

It looks like it would be better, to save old database tables in a trashbin before changing database structures.
Apr 2 2025
I get this too with every second page load in dewiki.

@Esanders : What do you think, is it a Parsoid bug or Parsoid serializing bug, that edits by VisualEditor change automatically the source code

News: Giftpflanze and I try to find a gitlab solution. Please wait ...
The task description means to provide a link to a code repository. Please explain how I can bring up a data interface to provide this link or to outsource a repo copy to somewhere I don't know. Yes, I want open the source but I need admin help.
Feb 6 2025
@Ladsgroup: Yes, and thanks for the first announcement, I already got it. But I need the dates of the _timespan_, when I can change all database queries to the new "running system" and when the old tables and columns don't work any more.
