I saw, that the related PR introduced a major change having MW < 1.39 also be installed on PHP 8. I don't think this is good, since mw.org states: "MediaWiki support for PHP 8.0 and above started with 1.39.0. Other release branches like MediaWiki 1.35.x may have minor issues and warnings on PHP 8 but generally work. See T248925 for more information." [1] There's probably a large number of extensions, that do not yet fully support PHP 8 like SMW.

@Aklapper no this was not yet communicated to the maintainers. I want to report issues and contribute. @CCicalese_WMF recommended to request a component project to have things tagged properly. I would expect master to support the current LTS, which is MW 1.27. Maybe my assumption is wrong.

We wanted to keep things simple. That's the reason why it's on GitHub. We monitor our Github repos, so if there is an issue, we will see it. I don't like to track Phabricator.

I can confirm, that new users have issues leaving the edit mode. Couldn't we just have an option to turn on/off the cancel button?

... it's not about the message itself, it is really the extra click that is not wanted in "internal wikis". So having an option to "bypass" this question would be great.

(1) would support an easier filling of forms in one go
(2) would support probably a more feature rich search but interrupt the form filling process

Is it possible to still download a specific commit as tar.gz when using Phabricator Diffusion?

it would be nice to have a fix for horizontal scrolling for wide tables

This bug might be related to the MediaWiki version. The bug occurs on MW 1.19.x but not on 1.21.x.
