Wondering what will be tokenized regarding the donate link? Different mailings may have other parameter values. Taking these two mailings as an example there's an extra _2 for wmf_source

Hi team! I've had a go here with editing both templates in Civi. All work is currently in draft mode.
Tue, Jan 27
Fri, Jan 23
Again, much appreciated, you seem to resolve these at lightning speed! @Lars
Thu, Jan 22
Much appreciated @Lars !!

Hiya @KHancock99 and everyone, jumped in here and made some edits based on your comments.
Dec 10 2025
Thank you @Lars for the context. Just want to leave some breadcrumbs I've found on various forums on this topic that might be helpful later on.

Much appreciated @Ejegg, you're so fast!

Hey @Ejegg ! Linguists have noted a better translation for es-419 in the specific sentence we were talking about.
Nov 27 2025
Thank you so much @Ejegg ! We'll be submitting all three components (donate, payments and Thank you pages) to localization team for a language check.
Nov 25 2025
Thanks @Ejegg! Sorry if I've sent you down a rabbit hole with the Sender name. Please disregard that request. We can keep it as it currently is "Wikimedia Foundation".
I think it would pose an unnecessary challenge to be able to localize the Sender name for each language cause of the wording. e.g.
Exactly! None of the markup was changed on donate.wiki, only content, alt and aria-label attributes.
Hey @Ejegg! I hopped into template "WMF Annual recurring pre-notification" to make some markup + copy edits according to this content document.

Appreciate it @Ejegg ! Glad to hear the quirk is not from our side 👍 bummer though for users with your setup, hope it doesn't affect many people.
Nov 10 2025
Hey @Ejegg! I tried replicating your issue but with no luck unfortunately. Hopefully others won't experience this but if it indeed becomes an issue, we'll sort it out.
Nov 6 2025
Oh that sounds odd, thanks for detailing Elliott. I've also noticed some mobile quirks that have to do with colors as well. My aim is to send you some fixes here by tomorrow the latest. I'll try and replicate what you mentioned see if I can fix that too.

Sharing a no tracking, minimal link here that displays WP25 for donate.wiki and payments.wiki:
Yes the light blue background is intentional from @RLopez-WMF . We also agreed with @RLopez-WMF that the puzzle border got a bit too tricky for payments.wiki and we're happy with how it looks by default.
Oct 29 2025
Much appreciated, @Ejegg! Could you share the value we'd be passing to pym_variant to land on this WP25 payments.wiki page?
I've gone for additive, should have mentioned! Use all existing inline styles that were initially provided and then append my latest tweaks.
Hey @Ejegg , sharing with you some CSS tweaks to make the appeal render better on payment.wiki

I have now applied the snooze_end_date criteria in each check node for all currently active RML programs.
I think you raise a very good point @Lars! RML programs have entry criteria but I forgot you can add logic to next-step/exit nodes further within the Program.
Oct 22 2025
Hey @Ejegg, just had a conversation with our team on this. We agreed that if it ends up being too difficult to recreate this 1:1 in payments.wiki, we'd be fine with adopting simpler design elements. Such as
Oct 21 2025
Passing hpcCurrency is not an instruction to donate.wiki that says "Change currency to X". hpcCurrency's value is compared against the currency donate.wiki generates (which is dictated by country).
I know what happened in this case and I've let DR know in an Issue Tracker spreadsheet that we use internally too.
Oct 20 2025
You're the best, thank you so much @Lars !
Hey all! I've completed the donate.wiki part of this WP25 design, you can see it here: https://donate.wikimedia.org/?appeal=WP25
Oct 15 2025
Oh wow, this is hyper speed, thank you so much @Lars ! And yes we were after the three letter code so all good! We're gonna be trying this out very soon for sure
Oct 3 2025
Hey @SHust , I've added in the following criteria in our active RML programs:

My Acoustic RML <--> Civi knowledge wasn't that up to date until I digged into this phab. But...
Sep 29 2025
Update, we're trying this out Monday 09/29 send on a few email templates.
Sep 15 2025
Hi @AKanji-WMF, apologies for not applying the Comms pref yet. I was focused on preparing Email 1 when it became ready. I'm looking to incorporate starting with Email 2, as @RLopez-WMF will take the coding reins and I can support.
Sep 11 2025
Thank you so much Lars for all your work here!
Sep 10 2025
Hi @Lars ! I'm wondering if I could put this phab on your radar if your bandwidth allows. The quoted section in the description should have enough information but happy to chat in more detail if you need.

Hi everyone, just subscribed to this task to follow up on the A/B testing feature. Do you have a rough estimate when this might be ready? Echoing @HNordeenWMF , we're thinking of running pre-test campaigns during Big English using this. Thanks in advance!
Jul 16 2025
Talked with fr-online regarding the pref center link, everyone's happy to move forward. Hoping by EOD we'll have new copy agreed for the footer, at which point I'll implement it in Acoustic and we can mark this as resolved.
Jul 15 2025
Ah thanks for breaking down the checksum! I just tried again in Acoustic both with and without the contact_hash field and the link works fine without. Full format (where %% are Acoustic fields):

Hey everyone, I've just received copy for this email here. Happy to work on the template itself once it's in Civi.
Jul 8 2025
I've made donations with a couple of old email addresses at various points in time. As far as I'm aware there's been no merges on these addresses.
Jul 7 2025
Hi @AKanji-WMF , DR have kindly provided unsubscribe translations for all three languages. I've gone ahead and those in each mailing respectively.
Jul 5 2025
No problem @AKanji-WMF. The footers I typed up in the localized mailings will not appear as footer dropdown options. I think Eileen might be referring to Civi requiring the following tokens in any mailing that goes out:
Jul 4 2025
Hi @AKanji-WMF ! I found the sent mailing you prepared named 2025 Q1 Gravy Recurring Fails - EN and created copies to form the following mailings:

Hey all! Been trying to get this to work but I'm noticing the following inconsistencies in Acoustic:
Jun 18 2025
I'd love to have that option!
Jun 14 2025
Hi @AKanji-WMF happy to collaborate on this if we're revisiting!
Jun 11 2025
Yes @Pcoombe and thank you for implementing this so quickly after discussing it! Very pleased with this 😄 I'll bring this back to email team, we should be able to start incorporating this very soon on our end.
Apologies for responding late here. On your question @Cstone:
May 26 2025
Hey @Ejegg , thank you for the update! Okay we'll sit tight and make sure the fix is good to go before we continue working on Civi mailings. Appreciate your hard work 🛠️
May 22 2025
Thanks @Eileenmcnaughton , I don't think I had a clear understanding of each job... Thanks for sharing the wikitech page as well!
May 14 2025
Hi team! Wondering about the status on this one? Thanks!
May 12 2025
Appreciate that @Dwisehaupt !
Apr 26 2025
Sounds great @AKanji-WMF let's do it. Dotting down some considerations:
Apr 18 2025
Apr 14 2025
Hey there @AnneT , thank you for letting me know about this. Since that SFC wasn't being used any longer, I've gone ahead and removed it from the fr-toolkit's main branch, where the webapp gets built from.
Jan 29 2025
@Cstone On donate.wiki, the currency displayed is dictated by the currently selected country of the page. That is why we opt to hardcode the &country= URL parameter in our ask hyperlinks.
Jan 22 2025
Hey all! I don't see a reason not to implement this. Unless an opt-in is explicitly required each time a donation happens(?). @Pcoombe As you mentioned, that may be a question that Legal knows the answer to.

Cross-posting from a related task. The WMF End of year thank you message - English (United States) template within CiviCRM is ready for deployment when needed.
Dec 19 2024
Confirming that the WMF End of year thank you message - English (United States) template within CiviCRM is out of the draft phase and all @RLopez-WMF 's work has been moved to the "Current" version.

Hiya @Cstone, to answer your question:
Dec 11 2024
@Reedy Confirming I can login with my SUL on Wikitech now! Thank you so much!
Hey all! I'm able to login using my Developer account and using Special:PasswordReset but I'm having trouble trying to log in with my SUL account. When I enter my SUL credentials I receive an error saying:

Nov 25 2024
Thank you @Damilare ! I wasn't aware we had to add this in the FundraiseUp Campaign.
Aug 8 2024
Absolutely brilliant @Cstone, thank you so much! I'll check on donate.wiki side how to push the &variant parameter on submit for this test.
Jul 29 2024
Hey @AKanji-WMF! I have some CSS for the payments wiki page to turn into a single column on desktops (mobile styles are okay as is). Some considerations:
Jul 24 2024
Forgot to mention dates. According to our Big English Email 1 schedule, this would be tried out on July 30 for the first time. I understand that that's a very close turnaround and this variant might not be ready for Go time.
Hey @AKanji-WMF! So for the CSS in the Single Column Layout, I'm basically overwriting existing styles found on the donate.wiki page. This is achieved by loading a particular "appeal" page via "&appeal=Single_Column_Form". You can see that page here.

@bsisolak Very interesting insight into how Acoustic handles URLs. So you're saying that without click tracking, the URL that gets generated during send time will be created once and remain static? As opposed to with click tracking, each future click requests data anew from Acoustic?
Thanks @AMJohnson for the extra info! @Ejegg , I went to Zendesk myself and had a look at the original email. Clicked on the hyperlink which resolved to:

For donor 397205, I was able to retrieve their email address from Civi and try testing it within Acoustic. Their address couldn't be found in Acoustic's database though. Having checked the template itself, both the HTML and Text versions included the "checksum" URL parameter. All links had the following format:
https://donorpreferences.wikimedia.org/index.php?title=Special:RecurUpgrade&variant=v01&contact_id=%%ContactID%%&checksum=%%checksum%%&wmf_medium=email&wmf_campaign=C2324_UpgradeRecurring&link_id=[x]

Hey @Ejegg, just updated the email template hyperlinks as follows:
Mar 7 2024
Hey @Ejegg @MSuijkerbuijk_WMF, for the landing page URL, it'd be neat to have it available by 03/13 if possible so I can update the email and pass it off to Technical QA. Thanks!

Greetings @JFishback_WMF , was wondering if we had any updates regarding this request? Thank you!
