This is because temporary accounts do not have a username displayed and the logic for notifications appears to require one. Replication steps: * Make an edit without an account get assigned a temporary account * Add ?useskin=vector to URL (or other skin: timeless, monobook) **Use case(s)** (list the steps that you performed to discover that problem, and describe the actual underlying problem which you want to solve. Do not describe only a solution): Third parties might want/need to use temporary accounts.
