We're currently using the `geosearch` feature from #geodata for the nearby view. It has a default radius limit of 10000m. That limit might be there for no hard reason though and we might be able to push it to whatever seems reasonable.
[] Wait for the Kartographer / Geosearch changes to be deployed
* https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/c/mediawiki/extensions/Kartographer/+/789795
* https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/c/mediawiki/extensions/GeoData/+/789143
* Both are on the 1.39.0-wmf.12 branch, which is on group0 as of May 17.
[] Enable the feature flag on the test server **(TBD)** `$wgKartographerNearby = true;`
[] Set the radius limit on the test server to some very high number `$wgMaxGeoSearchRadius = 25000000;`
[] Test the feature with different map sized and check the latency of the API requests.
