Wikimedia currently has a very powerful search API https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/API:Search_and_discovery that does some things well and could do some things better. The Discovery department would like to have a user focused session to hear about what works well, what works poorly, and what confuses our consumers. We'd especially would like to hear from Reading, Editing, Android, and iOS teams to better understand how we can improve relevance, query complexity, and search performance.
