Version 1.4.1 of wikidiff2 is functionally the same as the current deployed version when wgWikiDiff2MovedParagraphDetectionCutoff is not set.
Due to this fact we should be able to update the php extension on one of both of the mwdebug hosts and optionally set wgWikiDiff2MovedParagraphDetectionCutoff in mediawiki-config based on site and or hostname to make sure nothing explodes before rolling out further.
The steps will look something like:
[ ] - Update the wikidiff2 version on mwdebug server(s)
- QU: Can this be done to the mwdebug server or do updates like this have to happen to the whole fleet?
[ ] - Enable new functionality by setting wgWikiDiff2MovedParagraphDetectionCutoff in production for group0?
- Depending on how the update of the extension works we will either have to have a condition around the setting based on machine hostname or not.
[ ] - Further testing of the new version of wikidiff2 in on the production boxes
[ ] - Update the wikidiff2 version on all mediawiki servers (if not already done above)
[ ] - Set wgWikiDiff2MovedParagraphDetectionCutoff for dewiki?
- QU: Do we want to do this on dewiki first as we have done with other wishes?
[ ] - Set wgWikiDiff2MovedParagraphDetectionCutoff for group1
[ ] - Set wgWikiDiff2MovedParagraphDetectionCutoff for all wikis
