**Problem:** When users mention/pingMentions are not always sent out (e.g. if more than 50 people,e were mentioned at once). those people are not always informed.Currently, This can have several reasons:users do not get any feedback if their intended mention failed to send.
**Solution:**
- There is a limit to how many people you mayAdd a new checkbox to the notification settings to opt in to mention at oncefailures notifications. If you mention more than 50If set, it is treated as a mistake by the system and no mention isusers should receive a notification whenever a mention has not been sent out.
- Users might have written the user name wrong
- Notifications to self are not sent
- If you use Benutzerin instead of BenutzerN.b.: This is not about checking whether a mention has been delivered, it might not work (To be checked again)
Other reasons (see[2] and [3])
{F4046065}but only if it has been sent out.
Currently, users don't get feedback whether their mentions have worked, so they need to check it manually on the mentioned' people's sites.
**Suggested Solution:** It was suggested in the wishlist to receive a notification,**Background:** This task is based on a wish that received 21 points (#9) in the German Community Wishlist[1]. similar to "The article has been saved"Originally, saying "You have pinged the XX,the wish was to receive an information about the sent messages. YYTo keep the number of notifications smaller, ZZ".and to help people use mentions in a way that they are sent, Ideallythe task informs about mention failures, this message should also contain information about why people that should have received a notification did not receive one.
**Background:** This proposal received 22 points (#9) in the German Community Wishlist[1]and adds the reasons for the failure as well.
