The existing Grant Metrics event setup screen offers a simple way to create a new event. With the expansions intended for Event Metrics, we'll be adding new data—primarily descriptive data to make the event more understandable and possibly more sortable in future.
Also, because we plan to add [[ https://prtksxna.github.io/wmf-prototype-gm/event.html | a lot of metrics to the main event data screen ]], we move the Categories and Participants tools from those to Event Setup.
The goal is for Event Settings to become the central location for entering event data and establishing all event filters.

= New functionality & uses of new data fields
- **Most of the new data fields here are descriptive information **about the event. They should be stored with other event info (like time and date), and will be displayed in various reports, with other descriptive info (e.g., you can [[ https://prtksxna.github.io/wmf-prototype-gm/event.html | see some of them in use at the top of this mockup ]]).
- **Gender breakdown** This unusual, manually entered figure is displayed in the Event Summary report and on the main Event data screen (see mockup above). Figures will be displayed there as percentages.
= Design considerations
- We need a way for the design to show which fields are optional.
